Mind Map:
Mood board:
The Visuals of this story as
shown here are what I feel as
though the story is about and
is why its so exciting. Including
images like the demonic
totems bring a lot of dark
atmosphere to a story and can
make an audience hate the evil
more; Including a team of
people fighting off evil and
saving each other will make
the target audience appeal to
the humans more. Including
blood and generally the color
red can benefit as it has
connotations of danger, death
and suffering which can
portray the starving of the
vampires or struggle of the
humans fighting against the
vampires. Also including the
sights of vampires damaged
skin and hands can disturb the
target audience in a way which
expresses how bad being in a
vampire apocalypse could be.

I could use this colour scheme because overall it
gives of an evil atmosphere. Yellow gives off
connitations of deceit, Red gives of connitation of
blood and danger and Black and grey gives off
connitations of secrecy and darkness. I could use
these colours throughout my products to
maintain consistensy and portray the idea of a
scary vampire story.
I could use this colour scheme because overall it
gives of an atmosphere of irregularity and
confusion. green can sometimes give off
connitations of health and life however it also
gives of the connitations of sickness and
discord. This can give my audience a mix of
interpretation which is engaging. Brown and
black has the connitation of of lonliness and
isolation. I could use these colours throughout my
products to maintain consistensy and portray the

Credits and
mentions
When making a poster for the filmI would present it in a way my target audience can be attracted to the idea of the
film and will want to find out more and watch the film. One way I could do this is by using a good font and style in my
title. As shown in the example above the title is large and would be bold as it will be noticeable for my target
audience. Adding a ridged font putting blood on letters can be effective as it will give my audience the idea of
apocalypse and danger which implies the genre of the film. In the example the main image is the largest asset as it’s
the thing which is supposed to attract the audience the most. Here I could put an image of the main character or a
vampire which will tell the story just by looking at it. This is effective as the audience will already know the genre of
the film which someone who like vampire films would like. The tagline could be situated just underneath the main
image however not as big as the title. Once the audience read the tagline, they will ask questions to themselves on
what it means which is engaging them and will make them want to watch the film. The credits and mentions at the
bottom of the poster aren't as attractive as the title and main image however its important they are on the poster
as if the target audience have watched a film by the same company or like a particular actor in the filmit can make
them want to watch the filmweather, they like the genre or not
Video Game layouts
When thinking about and designing
my pixel game, I would like the product
to look like this, One thing I like about
Pixel art games are there simplicity.
Although it isn't a 3D third person game,
This kind of game can be appealing to a
all audiences as things such as
movement Is only up,down ,left and
right.

Production
Using your plans, produce:
• A synopsis for your film
• A video game that would support your film, to include a menu screen,
demo level and cut scene
• Sound track for the video game
• A magazine front cover, promoting the film
• Additional advertising to promote the film
Include synopsis, magazine cover and advertising in this pro forma.
Animation to be embedded in your blog.
Its 2020 and main character Lola is living her normal life with her and her family in London when all of a sudden, the colour of the sky turns odd and a swarm of vampires come out of hiding
to attack all of human society. 3 weeks since the apocalypse and Lola is separated from her family when she comes home from salvaging food and her family are nowhere to be seen.
Immediately Lola ventures out into the human less streets of London to find her family. While on the move for days Lola encounters other survivors such as Jen and Christopher, Leroy, Ash
and Sam. They all then go on a deadly vampire slaying mission. After months of slaying vampires and having control suddenly the vampires begin to adapt in the sunlight allowing more
species of vampire to roam England and larger numbers. This quickly becomes an issue for the vampire slayers. During a mission to kill all vampires in the church, Christopher and Leviare
bitten.
The vampire team rush to a hospital where they can find medical equipment to heal their wounds and to remove the vampire's blood from Chris and Levi's body however it it's too late
making the two become aggressive and hungry for blood. The vampire team manage to trap them in captivity where they could keep them alive until Jen, who is a ex doctor, can create a
formula which can turn them both back. Lola is on night watch for vampires Chris and Levi however Chris manages to escape his cage and attacked Lola. Lola instinctively bites Chris oddly
turning him back human. Lola realises she is special and then hears a voice telling her she is special and needs to go and slay the vampire elites and bring back humanity. The vampire team
then venture to locations in Scotland, wales and Ireland to defeat three vampire elites and find her family.
The whole vampire team travel and defeat the vampire elites while recovering vampires into humans to join them in the fight to bring back humanity. They defeat all vampire elites making
the sky clear and vampires turn back into humans. The vampire team then separate and continue their lives as Lola goes back home and find her family returned in their home.
Evaluation
Research
When doing research for my project it involved me lookingat a variety of existing products such as vampire
themed magazine cover, promotionalposter and apocalypticbased game. This helped me develop my project
because it gave me the idea and importance of techniques such as the structure and hierarchyin a poster and
magazine cover and the key componentsneeded in game play and within a menu of a game. I also had to
research how pixel animationswork in frames so that I could successfully apply it all intophotoshop. For my in-
game characters, I had to take inspirationfrom other apocalypticgames and films to create the correct vampire
slayer look and the correct vampirelook.
Planning
In the planningphase of the project, I had to set out different waysin which I could execute the project. One
thing I investigatedsome style sheet which are colourschemes or house colourswhich companies keep
consistentlythrough their products. I plannedthat id follow the colourscheme of black, grey, red and orange
because orange gives off connotationsof deceit, Red gives of connotation ofblood and danger and Black and
grey gives off connotationsof secrecy and darkness. I could use these coloursthroughout my
products to maintainconsistency and portray the idea of a scary vampire story. I also had to make concepts on
how I wanted my magazine cover and poster to layoutwhile involvingthe hierarchy techniques to appeal to
the audience. I also had to look at several video game examples and decide which layoutwould be most
suitablefor my video game in which I decided to create and endless runner from left to right as it is simple and
effective. I also created my script for the cut-scene of my game which is between the main character and the
final boss. After that I had to think about the different sound effects and soundtrack I wantedfor the game.
Time Management
At the start of the project, I created a 5-week workplan of the different content I needed to create but also
involvingplanningand some research however, for several reasons not all parts had gone to plan so for next
time I will need to work on improvingmy time management skills
Technical
Qualities
To create my promotionalposter and
magazine, I decided to use photoshop. The
process involved me to source images from
the internet, create the logo for the film,
prints and game then add text and titles.
It was importantthat I kept consistency in
the color scheme between the two as it like
the brand.
Obviouslyto create my animatedpixel game I needed to create lots of diferent
assests for the menu screen e.g buttonsand characterswhich I made and put
together for the game. The game is an endless runner game which meant I had to
create a frame-by-frame anmationof my character moving while also moving my
background to the left ever so slightly multipletimes. I also includeda button
system and health bar at the top of the screen as endless runner games would
do. When making the menu for the game it was almost the same thing however, I
animatedthe cursor to interactwith the sound which turns the soundtrack on the
goes to press 'start' which activatesthe loadingscreen intothe game. One thing
which was importantwas keeping the height and width of the menu, game and
cutscene the same so that the number of pixels doesn’t change to keep consistensy.
For the cutscene I decided to add borders at the bottom and top of the game as it
adds suspence for the final moments of the game. This includes the character and
the vampire speaking to eachother before the animationof the two fighting.
Aesthetic Qualities
I think that throughout the different pixel assests and parts of the game, involvinga
retro feel to it was importantfor me as that can be interesting to my audience.I
attemptedto create my logo which I made through photoshopin pixel form which
shows consistency in my products. Obviously, the colour scheme and style sheet
colourshave been kept consistent in black, grey, red, yellow and orange. I went for a
simple characterdesign because I felt that it best suit the look of the game.
Aural Qualities
My soundtrack for my game gives off the retro vibes and connitationof which I am looking for for my target audience to grasp.
It also has a dark and deep ring to it which gives off the connitaion ofa vampire or apocalypticgenre which is what the visuals
also suggest. Also, for the different things which occur such as a character running, attacking and gainingpoints there are the
appropriatesound effects for those things on going which emphisises the action more making the game more satisfying
Audience Appeal
I was told my promotionalposterwas good and dynamic with my cutouts over a good backgroundhowever, cutouts on the page
could of been done neaterand more precise. I was also told in my magazine cover was exciting and eye catching however, Some
of the text on the cover doesn't stand out too well from the backgroundmaking it harder to read.
Overall strengths and weaknesses of the final
package.
One good pointabout my project was keeping consistency in colourscheme within all of my products. after looking at
existing productsand seeing them do it taught me how importantit is to keep consistency as its easily recognisable.
Another good point about my project was my organisationin my work. in previousprojects i would scatter my work
around my computerhowever havingeverything in files it helped finding things easier to import into my different
editing software. Another good point about my project was in my game productionsuccessfully animating frame by
frame an endless runner game.

  • 10. Mood board: The Visuals of this story as shown here are what I feel as though the story is about and is why its so exciting. Including images like the demonic totems bring a lot of dark atmosphere to a story and can make an audience hate the evil more; Including a team of people fighting off evil and saving each other will make the target audience appeal to the humans more. Including blood and generally the color red can benefit as it has connotations of danger, death and suffering which can portray the starving of the vampires or struggle of the humans fighting against the vampires. Also including the sights of vampires damaged skin and hands can disturb the target audience in a way which expresses how bad being in a vampire apocalypse could be.

  • 15. Research Summary • What have you learned from your research? • The structureof a magazine • The use of hierarchy in a promotion poster • The components neededto create a horror game • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? • The use of colours which give horror connotations

  • 18. Style Sheet I could use this colour scheme because overall it gives of an evil atmosphere. Yellow gives off connitations of deceit, Red gives of connitation of blood and danger and Black and grey gives off connitations of secrecy and darkness. I could use these colours throughout my products to maintain consistensy and portray the idea of a scary vampire story. I could use this colour scheme because overall it gives of an atmosphere of irregularity and confusion. green can sometimes give off connitations of health and life however it also gives of the connitations of sickness and discord. This can give my audience a mix of interpretation which is engaging. Brown and black has the connitation of of lonliness and isolation. I could use these colours throughout my products to maintain consistensy and portray the idea of a scary vampire story
  • 19. Magazine and advert layouts Title Main image Tagline Credits and mentions When making a poster for the filmI would present it in a way my target audience can be attracted to the idea of the film and will want to find out more and watch the film. One way I could do this is by using a good font and style in my title. As shown in the example above the title is large and would be bold as it will be noticeable for my target audience. Adding a ridged font putting blood on letters can be effective as it will give my audience the idea of apocalypse and danger which implies the genre of the film. In the example the main image is the largest asset as it’s the thing which is supposed to attract the audience the most. Here I could put an image of the main character or a vampire which will tell the story just by looking at it. This is effective as the audience will already know the genre of the film which someone who like vampire films would like. The tagline could be situated just underneath the main image however not as big as the title. Once the audience read the tagline, they will ask questions to themselves on what it means which is engaging them and will make them want to watch the film. The credits and mentions at the bottom of the poster aren't as attractive as the title and main image however its important they are on the poster as if the target audience have watched a film by the same company or like a particular actor in the filmit can make them want to watch the filmweather, they like the genre or not
  • 20. Video Game layouts When thinking about and designing my pixel game, I would like the product to look like this, One thing I like about Pixel art games are there simplicity. Although it isn't a 3D third person game, This kind of game can be appealing to a all audiences as things such as movement Is only up,down ,left and right.

  • 29. Its 2020 and main character Lola is living her normal life with her and her family in London when all of a sudden, the colour of the sky turns odd and a swarm of vampires come out of hiding to attack all of human society. 3 weeks since the apocalypse and Lola is separated from her family when she comes home from salvaging food and her family are nowhere to be seen. The vampire team rush to a hospital where they can find medical equipment to heal their wounds and to remove the vampire's blood from Chris and Levi's body however it it's too late making the two become aggressive and hungry for blood. The vampire team manage to trap them in captivity where they could keep them alive until Jen, who is a ex doctor, can create a formula which can turn them both back. They defeat all vampire elites making the sky clear and vampires turn back into humans. The vampire team then separate and continue their lives as Lola goes back home and find her family returned in their home.
  • 31. Research When doing research for my project it involved me lookingat a variety of existing products such as vampire themed magazine cover, promotionalposter and apocalypticbased game. This helped me develop my project because it gave me the idea and importance of techniques such as the structure and hierarchyin a poster and magazine cover and the key componentsneeded in game play and within a menu of a game. I also had to research how pixel animationswork in frames so that I could successfully apply it all intophotoshop. For my in- game characters, I had to take inspirationfrom other apocalypticgames and films to create the correct vampire slayer look and the correct vampirelook.
  • 32. Planning In the planningphase of the project, I had to set out different waysin which I could execute the project. One thing I investigatedsome style sheet which are colourschemes or house colourswhich companies keep consistentlythrough their products. I plannedthat id follow the colourscheme of black, grey, red and orange because orange gives off connotationsof deceit, Red gives of connotation ofblood and danger and Black and grey gives off connotationsof secrecy and darkness. I could use these coloursthroughout my products to maintainconsistency and portray the idea of a scary vampire story. I also had to make concepts on how I wanted my magazine cover and poster to layoutwhile involvingthe hierarchy techniques to appeal to the audience. I also had to look at several video game examples and decide which layoutwould be most suitablefor my video game in which I decided to create and endless runner from left to right as it is simple and effective. I also created my script for the cut-scene of my game which is between the main character and the final boss. After that I had to think about the different sound effects and soundtrack I wantedfor the game.
  • 33. Time Management At the start of the project, I created a 5-week workplan of the different content I needed to create but also involvingplanningand some research however, for several reasons not all parts had gone to plan so for next time I will need to work on improvingmy time management skills
  • 34. Technical Qualities To create my promotionalposter and magazine, I decided to use photoshop. The process involved me to source images from the internet, create the logo for the film, prints and game then add text and titles. It was importantthat I kept consistency in the color scheme between the two as it like the brand.
  • 35. Obviouslyto create my animatedpixel game I needed to create lots of diferent assests for the menu screen e.g buttonsand characterswhich I made and put together for the game. The game is an endless runner game which meant I had to create a frame-by-frame anmationof my character moving while also moving my background to the left ever so slightly multipletimes. I also includeda button system and health bar at the top of the screen as endless runner games would do. When making the menu for the game it was almost the same thing however, I animatedthe cursor to interactwith the sound which turns the soundtrack on the goes to press 'start' which activatesthe loadingscreen intothe game. One thing which was importantwas keeping the height and width of the menu, game and cutscene the same so that the number of pixels doesn’t change to keep consistensy. For the cutscene I decided to add borders at the bottom and top of the game as it adds suspence for the final moments of the game. This includes the character and the vampire speaking to eachother before the animationof the two fighting.
  • 36. Aesthetic Qualities I think that throughout the different pixel assests and parts of the game, involvinga retro feel to it was importantfor me as that can be interesting to my audience.I attemptedto create my logo which I made through photoshopin pixel form which shows consistency in my products. Obviously, the colour scheme and style sheet colourshave been kept consistent in black, grey, red, yellow and orange. I went for a simple characterdesign because I felt that it best suit the look of the game.
  • 37. Aural Qualities My soundtrack for my game gives off the retro vibes and connitationof which I am looking for for my target audience to grasp. It also has a dark and deep ring to it which gives off the connitaion ofa vampire or apocalypticgenre which is what the visuals also suggest. Also, for the different things which occur such as a character running, attacking and gainingpoints there are the appropriatesound effects for those things on going which emphisises the action more making the game more satisfying
  • 38. Audience Appeal I was told my promotionalposterwas good and dynamic with my cutouts over a good backgroundhowever, cutouts on the page could of been done neaterand more precise. I was also told in my magazine cover was exciting and eye catching however, Some of the text on the cover doesn't stand out too well from the backgroundmaking it harder to read.
  • 39. Overall strengths and weaknesses of the final package. One good pointabout my project was keeping consistency in colourscheme within all of my products. after looking at existing productsand seeing them do it taught me how importantit is to keep consistency as its easily recognisable. Another good point about my project was my organisationin my work. in previousprojects i would scatter my work around my computerhowever havingeverything in files it helped finding things easier to import into my different editing software. Another good point about my project was in my game productionsuccessfully animating frame by frame an endless runner game.
