3. IntroductionIntroduction
Air pollution creates by mixing of toxic element in
the air. Air pollution comes from many different
sources such as factories, power plants, dry cleaners,
cars, buses, trucks and even windblown dust and
wildfires.
.
Air pollution can harm the health of human beings,
trees, lakes, crops, and animals
4. WHAT IS AIR POLLUTIONWHAT IS AIR POLLUTION??
Air pollution is the harmful
materials into the Earth's
atmosphere.
Air pollution is pollution of
the air which can affect
the health, survival, or activities
of many organisms (living
things), including humans.
Air pollution creates by mixing
of toxic element in the air.
5. Sources of Air PollutionSources of Air Pollution
There are two sources of air pollution.
1) Man-made sources
2) Natural sources
6. Man-made sources of AirMan-made sources of Air
PollutionPollution
Stationary sources include smoke stacks of power
plants, factories, other types of fuel-burning heating
devices.
Mobile sources include motor vehicles, marine vessels,
and aircraft.
Forest fires.
Fumes from paint, hair spray, varnish, aerosol
sprays and other solvents
Waste deposition in landfills, which generate methane.
Military resources, such as nuclear weapons, toxic
gases, germ warfare and rocketry.
7. Natural sources of air pollutionNatural sources of air pollution
Dust from natural sources.
Methane, emitted by the digestion of food by animals,
for example cattle.
Radon gas from radioactive decay within the Earth's
crust.
Smoke and carbon monoxide from wildfires.
Volcanic activity.
8. AFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION ONAFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION ON
OUR HEALTHOUR HEALTH
Air pollution adversely affects the lives of millions of
people.
Dizziness.
Headaches.
Burning, scratchy eyes.
Runny nose.
Coughing and hard breathing.
Lung cancer and lung diseases.
Sore throat, Chest pains, colds, and allergies.
10. How to control Air pollutionHow to control Air pollution
Mechanical collectors (dust
cyclones, multicyclones)
Electrostatic air cleaner is a
particulate collection device that
removes particles from a flowing
gas.
Baghouses Designed to handle
heavy dust loads, a dust collector
consists of a blower, dust filter, a
filter-cleaning system.
Wet scrubber is a form of
pollution control technology.
11. Solutions for Air PollutionSolutions for Air Pollution
There are various air pollution control technologies
and land – use planning strategies available to reduce air
pollution.
Includes primary regulation.
conversion to cleaner fuels.
Titanium dioxide has been researched for its ability to
reduce air pollution.
12. ConclusionConclusion
Over the years air pollution has increased
dramatically.
Much air pollution can cause serious injuries to
the environment.
It affects the health of humans in several ways.
If people don’t start taking charge of what’s
going around, many people can be affected.
