will showcase effective ways of encouraging and motivating staff and schemes that encourage and

2. City & Guilds Award for Staff Development
The City & Guilds Award for Staff Development encourages applications from all colleges of further
education who believe they can meet the criteria.
The award aims to recognise contributions from across the whole range of staff working in further
education. The assessors will be looking to reward innovative best practice that delivers identifiable
results and benefits. In particular they will be looking for evidence of the following:
• Effective ways for encouraging and motivating staff
• Schemes that allow and encourage personal and professional development
• Effective and imaginative work to support staff development
• Schemes that can demonstrate positive outcomes for teachers, other staff and learners.
