1. Access your Biology textbook online

2. • Access is via DawsonEra database
• short-loan e-Book: loaned for 3 hours
• Five users at a time (download / read online)
• Downloading is for 3 hours offline use.
• Reading Online needs internet access.

course Vula site
Open library link
If there is a pop-
up blocker
activated click
again on Re-
Launch page link

4. Scroll down to
‘Your
Textbooks and
e-References’
box

5. Open e-book by
clicking on the title

6. Sign in with
your UCT
credentials.

7. Accept the
Terms &
Conditions and
proceed.

9. You have two options to
read the book:
• Download eBook
• Read online

11. The time of
availability for
offline use is
indicated in the
dialogue box.
Select reader software you
want to use.

12. Download eBook
• To download and be able to have the eBook offline, you are
required to use one of the following free software:
• Adobe Digital Edition OR
• Bluefire reader
• *Downloaded eBook will not allow you to print or copy text.
