VIDEO ON ICT FOR TEACHER
TRAINING.
PERVASIVENESS OF
TECHNOLOGY
Different technology methods has taken over our lives and our world
by storm. From necessities such as cell phones which we use
everyday to luxurious methods of technology such as tablets, no
matter what they are, they influence our lives. Technology has given
us the ability to make our lives easier.
PERVASIVENESS OF
TECHNOLOGY
Teachers lives has even became easier since the dawn of technology
usage has been adopted in the classroom. ICT has helped teachers
to create a more sophisticated and outstanding learning environment.
Access to internet in schools has granted teachers the wonderful
ability of adding current circumstances straight to subject content. It
allows learners to be presented with an extra benefit. Learners may
also indulge in e-mail to contact teachers after school hours for any
enquires.
PERVASIVENESS OF
TECHNOLOGY
Knowledge society agenda constructs a vision that will enable the
obtaining of information which could in turn change society. This will
thus change it into a global phenomenon of information shared and
to be accessible for further advantage. Knowledge society needs to
work together with ICT for a successful society. The expansion of
knowledge society with ICT may provide grounds for a more complex
and unconventional societal evolution.
KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY AGENDA
“Education is the most powerful
weapon which you can use to
change the world.”
– Nelson Mandela.
EDUCATION FOR ALL
Education should be more than just a privilege, it should be a right. A
right that should be bestowed upon all individuals. Every person
deserves an education, an education that would help one to better
themselves in a world that makes them face many trails. This is
exactly what the Education for All initiative stands for. Education for
All was first introduces in April 2000 to the global community who met
up to discuss ways in which the education can be transformed and
improved. Goals were set for the movement launch. These goals are:
EDUCATION FOR ALL
• To expand early childhood care and education.
• To provide free and compulsory primary education to all.
• To promote learning and life skills for young people and adults.
• To Increase adult literacy by 50 present.
• To achieve gender parity by 2005, gender equality by 2015.
• To improve the quality of education
EDUCATION FOR ALL
As soon as the goals were made, action had to be taken to meet
those goals. Enrolment's to schools and free primary school
education had gone up in numbers and increased but gender parity
failed to meet its goal by the specified year 2005. Free education,
still remains as an unmet goal. The quality of education has also not
been met, another goal that has not persisted is the sending and
employing of qualified teachers into schools. Resulting in schools
being left with skill less teachers who do not have the required
teacher training to educate. Education for All is a brilliant initiative but
in order for it to be successful every person needs to play their part
and contribute to the cause in every way possible.

  1. Technology serves to be a key tool in the classroom to create advanced and useful options for a teacher. Teache0rs may use different forms of technological products to improve their methods of teaching, to grant learners a more beneficial learning experience and at the same time introduce learners to the unpredictable and inevitable change in our technological world. This essay will focus on why it is imperative for educational technologies (ICT (Information communication technology)) to be added to teacher training for pre-service teachers and the vision we could see if all South African teachers are equipped with ICT knowledge. I will be highlighting important points relating to this topic from the documents provided.
  2. Different technological methods are taking over the world by storm. From our everyday necessities such as cellphones to luxurious items such as tablets, these technological advancements have taken over our lives. The pervasiveness of technology has crept up on us and has even made our lives that much easier.
  3. As teachers in the classroom, technology has helped to create a more sophisticated and outstanding teaching and learning environment. Teachers may now find that the easy access of internet may help them gather information straight off the internet and add it to the content being taught. This improves the lesson and offers a wider amount of information to be given to learners for their benefit. Learners may use e-mail to contact teachers if need be. The spread of technology is fast moving and can certainly be used in a positive manner for teaching.
  4. Knowledge society agenda constructs a vision to be able to obtain information which could serve as a weapon to change society and in turn create a global phenomenon of information to be shared and to be accessible. Knowledge society needs to work together with ICT to be able to create a successful society. The expansion of knowledge society with ICT may provide grounds for a more complex and unconventional societal evolution.
  5. Every person deserves an education. An education for one to be able to better them in a world that would make one endure many trails. That is what the Education for All stands for, it stands for freedom of education for individuals of all ages. The Education for All initiative was first established in April 2000; the global community met up and discussed ways in which this education could be transformed and improved, a few goals were set up for the movement to launch. They are:
  6. To expand early childhood care and education. To provide free and compulsory primary education to all. To promote learning and life skills for young people and adults. To Increase adult literacy by 50 present. To achieve gender parity by 2005, gender equality by 2015. To improve the quality of education
  7. As soon as the goals were made, action was taken to tackle the issue and try to achieve the goals made. Enrolment to schools and free primary school education increased but gender parity failed to meet its goal by 2005. The concern of free education for every individual has also failed to be addressed. The quality of education has also failed to proceed into fruitfulness as, sending and employing of educated and qualified teachers into schools has not persisted. As a result, schools are left with skill less teachers who do not have the required teacher training to educate. Many other concerns have been raised but in order for education for all to be successful, every person needs to work hand in hand and contribute in every way possible in order for education for all to be run successfully.
