The document summarizes a European project called Do CHANGE that developed a health ecosystem to monitor patients with high blood pressure or heart disease. It involved clinical trials across several countries testing remote monitoring technologies. The results showed high patient acceptance of the remote monitoring system. Participants in the intervention group showed improved quality of life and lifestyle measures over time compared to the control group. Spanish participants saw the most significant and sustainable improvements in physical health and depression scores. The project concluded that remote patient monitoring technologies can effectively support elderly patients with cardiac conditions.

Technology for the Elderly and Health: Translation to the Market-22nd of November 2019
METHOD
Two RCT clinical trials:
- 200 interventions
- 200 control group (only surveys)
6. Technological advances for the ageing population funded by European Projects
METHOD
Phase 1 trial (3 Months):
- CarePortal
- Blood Pressure monitor
- Smartphone
Phase 2 trial (6 Months):
- CarePortal
- Clinicians Portal
- Patient Portal
- Blood Pressure Machine, Weight Scales
- Commercially available products FitBit, Beddit but integrated

METHOD
Phase 3 trial (3 Months):
- The patients in Spain and Taiwan added COOKiT and FLUiT
during the third phase trial.

RESULTS
- The intervention was very well accepted by patients, health care
providers and care givers.
- The pacients indicated that the intervention was useful.
-The intervention group showed higher quality of life over time.
- Lifestyle measures showed improvement in both groups.
- Economic evaluation we have learned that the intervention would be
most likely accepted in the Netherlands, followed by Catalonia and would
be rejected in Taiwan. .

CONCLUSIONS
- Intervention participants of phase 2 show an improvement trend
during the six month, except for the social relationships score,
which rose until the third month and then showed a downward
trend until the month 6.
- Physical Health in the Spanish population, this improvement
trend shows a statistical significance between baseline and the
6th month. This trend is also statistically significant for the
Taiwanese participants for the last three months of the study.

CONCLUSIONS
- Models built to study differences between groups and predict whether
the intervention participants will have a long-term and sustainable
change show that the Spanish population always reach a better quality
of live scores than the others two populations.
- Depression score: the Spanish population also presented the lowest
scores, showing better results than their counterparts.
- These prediction models suggest that participants will continue having
and sustainable improvement over time on all scores, except for the
social relationship score, which shows a decrease from the third
month.
