Pod 25 – Blog Action Day 2008

It is with great satisfaction that we at Blog NewsGames mark our debut in an
edition of Blog Action Day, a major initiative of the galaxy of blogs. In year 2008,
the campaign's theme is poverty in the world. But how to relate a subject as
distinct from the universe of games? In preparation technology, videogame and
poverty issues are quite close, because the games are great media for
dissemination of new technologies and excellent educational platform.
Moreover, Education is the only peaceful weapon, through which we can
promote the definitive eradication of poverty in the world. Once, I heard that
learning, although it is something passed on a collective, if an individual was at
the end of the process. That is, in the end, not everyone will take note 10. In
fact, this is true in terms of traditional school, where part of the knowledge
abstrado for concrete, the general to particularly, the remote to the next.
However, at the end of each school cycle, most schools can meet only the
abstract part of the contents, which explain a huge dropout. In light of new
technologies such as Internet and online games, for example, theory and
practice take place at the same time of exponential form and standardized on a
global scale. Unlike the classical school, the real-time learning democratizes the
teaching because the content is formatted following the overall needs and not
parochial particularities. While digital technology allows centralized access to
content, content follows the same standards set by society as a network and not
just the educational system of each country. From this angle, the principles of
the global village of MacLuhan would finally guided and open a huge
opportunity instead of eradication of poverty, especially in areas totally
segregated education by force. In this new scenario, the games can be used as
tools for learning from any type of content, ultimately both the technology and
the content of video games can be standardized globally. Through games, you
can promote the centralization of all existing human content, not just the

Second Guer, as is already the game Medal of Honor. This allows us to
extrapolate the current role of the Internet. With a fun and interactive language,
the games serve as an attraction for children and young people, especially,
those individuals who have some kind of rejection to mainstream education. But

money of the people? Even more after the Crash of 2008, the state became
more sovereign than ever and could put into practice what we Blog of
NewsGames are proposing ...

Olá pessoal, eu sou Geraldo Seabra, eu Luciene Santos. E é com grande
satisfação que nós do Blog do NewsGames marcamos a nossa estréia em uma
edição do Blog Action Day, uma importantíssima iniciativa da galáxia dos blogs.
Neste ano de 2008, o tema da campanha é a pobreza no mundo. Mas como
relacionar um assunto tão distinto do universo dos games? Na perspectiva
tecnológica, videogame e pobreza são temas bastante próximos, pois os
games são grandes suportes de difusão das novas tecnologias e excelente
plataforma educacional. Aliás, a Educação é a única arma pacífica, através da
qual, poderemos promover a erradicação definitiva da pobreza no mundo.
Certa vez, ouvi que a aprendizagem, embora seja algo transmitido de forma
coletiva, se dava de forma individual no final do processo. Ou seja, no final das
contas, nem todo mundo vai tirar nota 10. De fato, isso é verdade do ponto de
vista da escola tradicional, em que o conhecimento parte do abstrado para o
concreto, do geral para o particular, do remoto para o próximo. No entanto, no
final de cada ciclo escolar, a maioria das escolas consegue cumprir apenas a
parte abstrata do conteúdo, o que exlplicaria a enorme evasão escolar. À luz
das novas tecnologias, como Internet e games on-line, por exemplo, teoria e
prática se dão ao mesmo tempo de forma exponencial e padronizada, em
escala planetária. Diferente da escola clássica, o aprendizado em tempo real
democratiza o ensino, pois o conteúdo é formatado seguindo necessidades
globais e não particularidades provincianas. Enquanto a tecnologia digital
permite o acesso centralizado do conteúdo, este mesmo conteúdo segue
padrões definidos pela sociedade em rede e não apenas pelo sistema
educacional de cada país. Desse prisma, os princípios da Aldéia Global de
MacLuhan seriam finalmente norteados e abririam uma enorme possibilidade

de erradicação de vez da pobreza, principalmente em áreas totalmente
segregadas pela educação vigente. Nesse novo cenário, os games podem ser
usados como ferramentas de aprendizagem de qualquer tipo de conteúdo,
afinal tanto a tecnologia quanto o conteúdo dos jogos eletrônicos pode ser
padronizado   globalmente.   Através   dos   games,    pode-se   promover    a
centralização de todo conteúdo humano existente, não apenas da Segunda
Guera, como já faz o jogo Medal of Honor. Isso nos permite extrapolar o papel
atual da Internet. Com uma linguagem lúdica e interativa, os games
funcionariam como fator atrativo de crianças e jovens, principalmente, daqueles
indivíduos que apresentam algum tipo de rejeição ao ensino tradicional. Mas
como resolver a velha questão de acessecibilidade dos mais pobres à Galáxia
da Internet? Deixando de tratar a Web como um tabuleiro meramente de
negócios, como fazem os provedores de Internet, os portais de notícia e as
grandes empresas que formatam toda a tecnologia da rede. Nessa ratoeira
nada virtual, existe uma saída? Sim, meus caros! Criarmos a chamada Web 4.0
totalmente grátis, do acesso à rede à troca de informação, seja de um simples
texto, MP3, vídeos, imagens... Enfim, uma nova rede social que não
envolvesse qualquer tipo de pagamento, sem o velho fantasma da Galáxia de
Gutenberg, baseada na Teoria do Direito Autoral. Claro, tudo pago
integralmente pelo Estado. Afinal, o dinheiro do Estado não é dinheiro do povo?
Ainda mais após o Crash de 2008, o Estado se tornou mais soberano do que
nunca e poderá colocar em prática o que nós do Blog do NewsGames estamos
propondo...

Pod 25 – Blog Action Day 2008 _____________________________________________________ by Luciene Santos & Geraldo Seabra It is with great satisfaction that we at Blog NewsGames mark our debut in an edition of Blog Action Day, a major initiative of the galaxy of blogs. In year 2008, the campaign's theme is poverty in the world. But how to relate a subject as distinct from the universe of games? In preparation technology, videogame and poverty issues are quite close, because the games are great media for dissemination of new technologies and excellent educational platform. Moreover, Education is the only peaceful weapon, through which we can promote the definitive eradication of poverty in the world. Once, I heard that learning, although it is something passed on a collective, if an individual was at the end of the process. That is, in the end, not everyone will take note 10. In fact, this is true in terms of traditional school, where part of the knowledge abstrado for concrete, the general to particularly, the remote to the next. However, at the end of each school cycle, most schools can meet only the abstract part of the contents, which explain a huge dropout. Versão em português Pod 25 – Blog Action Day 2008 _____________________________________________________ Por Luciene Santos & Geraldo Seabra* Olá pessoal, eu sou Geraldo Seabra, eu Luciene Santos. E é com grande satisfação que nós do Blog do NewsGames marcamos a nossa estréia em uma edição do Blog Action Day, uma importantíssima iniciativa da galáxia dos blogs. Neste ano de 2008, o tema da campanha é a pobreza no mundo. Mas como relacionar um assunto tão distinto do universo dos games? Na perspectiva tecnológica, videogame e pobreza são temas bastante próximos, pois os games são grandes suportes de difusão das novas tecnologias e excelente plataforma educacional. Aliás, a Educação é a única arma pacífica, através da qual, poderemos promover a erradicação definitiva da pobreza no mundo. Certa vez, ouvi que a aprendizagem, embora seja algo transmitido de forma coletiva, se dava de forma individual no final do processo. Ou seja, no final das contas, nem todo mundo vai tirar nota 10. De fato, isso é verdade do ponto de vista da escola tradicional, em que o conhecimento parte do abstrado para o concreto, do geral para o particular, do remoto para o próximo. No entanto, no final de cada ciclo escolar, a maioria das escolas consegue cumprir apenas a parte abstrata do conteúdo, o que exlplicaria a enorme evasão escolar. À luz das novas tecnologias, como Internet e games on-line, por exemplo, teoria e prática se dão ao mesmo tempo de forma exponencial e padronizada, em escala planetária. Diferente da escola clássica, o aprendizado em tempo real democratiza o ensino, pois o conteúdo é formatado seguindo necessidades globais e não particularidades provincianas. Enquanto a tecnologia digital permite o acesso centralizado do conteúdo, este mesmo conteúdo segue padrões definidos pela sociedade em rede e não apenas pelo sistema educacional de cada país. Desse prisma, os princípios da Aldéia Global de MacLuhan seriam finalmente norteados e abririam uma enorme possibilidade
  • 4. _____________________________________________________ de erradicação de vez da pobreza, principalmente em áreas totalmente segregadas pela educação vigente. Nesse novo cenário, os games podem ser usados como ferramentas de aprendizagem de qualquer tipo de conteúdo, afinal tanto a tecnologia quanto o conteúdo dos jogos eletrônicos pode ser padronizado globalmente. Através dos games, pode-se promover a centralização de todo conteúdo humano existente, não apenas da Segunda Guera, como já faz o jogo Medal of Honor. Isso nos permite extrapolar o papel atual da Internet. Com uma linguagem lúdica e interativa, os games funcionariam como fator atrativo de crianças e jovens, principalmente, daqueles indivíduos que apresentam algum tipo de rejeição ao ensino tradicional. Mas como resolver a velha questão de acessecibilidade dos mais pobres à Galáxia da Internet? Deixando de tratar a Web como um tabuleiro meramente de negócios, como fazem os provedores de Internet, os portais de notícia e as grandes empresas que formatam toda a tecnologia da rede. Nessa ratoeira nada virtual, existe uma saída? Sim, meus caros! Criarmos a chamada Web 4.0 totalmente grátis, do acesso à rede à troca de informação, seja de um simples texto, MP3, vídeos, imagens... Enfim, uma nova rede social que não envolvesse qualquer tipo de pagamento, sem o velho fantasma da Galáxia de Gutenberg, baseada na Teoria do Direito Autoral. Claro, tudo pago integralmente pelo Estado. Afinal, o dinheiro do Estado não é dinheiro do povo?
