„Raza de Soare” (Sun Ray) Kindergarten located in the historical town Târgoviște, is a public kindergarten, in the south region of Romania.

4. “ Sun Ray” kindergarten from
Targoviste is a public kindergarten,
the biggest in South region of
Romania. Kindergarten operates in
two buildings built in 1969
respectively 1972.
It’s capacity is 400 seats,
distributed in 14 groups: 10 in the
traditional program, 4 in the “step
by step” alternative one.

8. The Kindergarten groups have: spacious
rooms, furnished in accordance with areas of
interest:Science, Building Games,Board and
manipulative games,Library, literacy, Role
playing,Sand and water, lunch room and
bathroom for each group of children.

13. It is an application kindergarten for the National
College “Constantin Cantacuzino”, where future
kindergarten teachers and school instructors are
trained.
Under the motto "For you, child, all the best", “Sun
Ray” kindergarten from Targoviste aims at becoming a
"kindergarten open for all" by creating an appropriate
socio- educational climate for quality training at the
European level, a democratic environment and creative
development for all and for everyone.

15. The mission of “Sun Ray” Kindergarten is to
create an ideal space for the most beautiful and
happiest childhood for the adult of tomorrow.
“Sun Ray” Kindergarten is: a place where
childhood is more beautiful and happier for each
child, this contributing to their education and
training and a partner for every family in the
process of educating children to their training and
preparation for school.

17. The teaching staff includes: principal, 28
preschool teachers, a psychologist, a speech
therapist , all of them having good training and
very concern for their own professional
development: higher education all teachers,
trainers, parental education trainers,mentors,
methodists, experts in educational management,
responsables for teaching circles.

21. The administrative and care staff is
composed of 22 individuals: accountant,
administrator, cooks, maintenance worker,
kindergarten maids, laundresses. The medical
care is provided by 4 nurses.

22. The children are involved in many types of
activities,in the kindergarten but outside too. We
make visits and trips close or far away from the
Targoviste area.
The parents are involved to participate with
their children in different activities ,in this way
realizing a great connections between all the
partners from the educational process.

28. In the romanian preschool educational
system are included children with ages between
3 years and 5/6 years. Activities are conducted
in kindergartens, extended or weekly.
Pre-school education is structured on two
levels: level I- aimed socialization of children
aged between 3 and 5 years and the second
aimed at preparing for school children aged 5
and 6 years.

30. According to the new education law proposed by
Minister of Education Daniel Funeriu and approved
by the government on 12 April 2010, preparatory
class will move from kindergarten to primary
education.
In order to ensure quality of education and
optimizing resource management, schools and local
government authorities may decide to set up school
consortiums that are contractual partnerships between
schools.

32. On average, all four age ranges, kids activity lasts 15
to 45 minutes (usually 15 minutes at the small
group,30-45 minutes tops the preparatory group).
Depending on the group, the individual
characteristics of children in the group, the contents and
goals up, the teacher will decide the actual time
required for each activity.

33. The number of daily activities performed by
children varies depending on the type of program
chosen by parents and the number of activities per
week varies depending on the age of the children
( 3-5 years, and 5-6 years).
However, for the 3-5 years, where only 7 integrated
activities or subjects and eight curricular areas, we
recommend alternating activities ,artistic and musical
education (in the same curricular area) or their practical
activities (the curricular area Technologies).

34. For age groups between 3-5 years, the
categories of activities with children will especially
target the socialization of children (Collaboration,
cooperation, negotiation, joint decision-making,
etc.) and getting progressively personal autonomy
and for groups age ranging 5-6 years, the focus will
move towards preparing for school and social life
of its.
