Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf collaborate
to develop a protocol for linking multiple
networks together
1973
.Dave Farber of the University of
Delaware reveals a project to build
an inexpensive network using dial-
up phone lines
1982
Tim Berners-Lee and his colleagues at CERN
develop hypertext markup language (HTML) and the
uniform resource locator (URL), giving birth to the
World Wide Web
1990
Sees the rise and burst of the dotcom bubble.
2000s see Google’s meteoric rise to domination
of the search engine market. This decade also
sees the rise and proliferation of Wi-Fi

The “Smart Devices” term is being used
more often to describe digital devices as
there is new technology developing every
day turning even the most basic everyday
things we use into digital devices and
calling it Smart Devices.
You can now manage your entire house
with the click of a button, or even a voice
command.
3. How customers search for
information
Customers search for information in
different ways.
Via Search engines, Voice Search, Social Media, Image Recognition technology
just to name a few.
Voice search is becoming more popular, voice interfaces are the most popular
alternative to text-based search engines, reiterated by (KEMP, 2021) “with 45
percent of global internet users saying that they used voice search or voice
commands in the past 30 days.”
Siri, Googel Assist and Alexa is the most popular digital assistance at this time.
