Set in a disparate landscape, HUSTLER examines the relationship between performance and attire. 
The intimate nature of the piece is overwhelmed as the dress is orchestrated to life with unprecedented

The intimate nature and beauty of the performance becomes increasingly convoluted as the dress is 
orchestrated to life; resulting in unprecedented, and somewhat unexplained, consequences. The safety of

HUSTLER explores the relationship we have with control and consumerism from a performance art led 
foundation; following on from Lauren Skogstad’s previous work in New Zealand

HUSTLER forced the team to be consistently reactive and challenged as the dress had hold of what the 
outcome was visually. Unlike an average garment, or meticulous production, the end result was founded 
on taking risks and entering into unknown territory without question, which can ultimately be the most 
rewarding.
