messages about a person (such as a student) often has done
anonymously (Merriam Webster).
• Cyberbullying has been succinctly defined as ‘‘willful and
repeated harm inflicted through the medium of the
electronic text’’ (Patchin and Hinduja 2006).
3. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Traditional bullying forced its way onto the web in the 1990s with the
advent of affordable personal computers. Since then, classmates (and
even strangers) have subjected children and teens to cyberbullying in
public chartrooms or on private messaging platforms like internet
messages and emails. The web’s anonymity provided the perfect cover for
a user to harass or intimidate others without many repercussions (The
Bark Team, 2017).

2015 study revealed that 80% of Filipino teenagers aged 13 to 16 are
experiencing cyberbullying (Takumi, 2016).
4. RECENT DICUSSSION OF THE
PROBLEM

asked students to indicate on which social media platforms they had
experienced cyberbullying. And here are the results:

THE PROBLEM
This study would be a great benefaction to broad knowledge in relation to
cyber bullying and Social Media Platforms The results that will be gathering by
our study will be highly beneficial to the following:
Parents – To know how literate their children when it comes to internet or
online platform.
Students – Seek awareness, self-discipline and the understand the effect
of cyber bullying.
Teachers – provide assistance ,guidance and determine if the student are
prone to this problem
Future researcher- Source of information and serve as a guide.
7. THESIS STATEMENT
Cyberbullying is a form of intimidation through the use of electronics that spread nationwide
and prevalent around the world amongst both children and adults. The societal issue that our
country is now facing is quickly spread and increasing that clearly it is a large problem in our
today’s society. Especially we are facing a crisis and pandemic in our country right now, with a
new normal environment, which lead us in to social media platform. We can now see how
violent, bully and Media illiterate people in today’s online and experiencing a lack of discipline
and knowledge doing an impulsive decision and being victimize of cyber bullying that lead us
to lost moral the values which are self-empathy, self-control and self-esteem that actually lead
to cyber bullying affecting both bullied and the bullies.

feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an

11. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, Cyber bullying is a real problem in today’s society. In total of persistent problem, 95 %
of teens are connected to the internet and 85 % are social media users. We are gaining access to the
knowledge and information available on the internet. However it also increases our exposure to
potentially harmful interactions, specifically, cyber bullying because of the lost of moral values which
are self-control, self-empathy and self-esteem. People in today’s society do not have self-discipline,
making an impulsive decision that will regret in the end. It is a tradition been seen as part of our life
and as it continuous issue in to the future because people always thought of cyber bullying is
nothing. However, this is not quite simple and not true. It is an excuse to most of people to ignore a
real problem to avoid trying to solve it today and to the future. Cyber bullying has been found to
seriously, undermine the health and affect wellbeing of those are subjected to it. People forget that
online is real life too, type things without thinking about the consequences it could have on them on
real life, they forgot that whatever they day has a real impact on somebody offline and that is why
cyber bullying it is such a big issue that requires the full co-operation of social networks, policy
makers. Young people, Student in USeP, educators and society as a whole that will contribute an idea
to solve this problem to our society.
