requirements of: Education, Training, Experience,

Prerequisite
 Bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in
project management
 Diploma holder with 5 years project
experience.
 Other credentials related to project
management may be considered.

IT project management includes overseeing projects
for software development, hardware installations,
network upgrades, cloud computing and
virtualization rollouts, business analytics and data
management projects and implementing IT services.
This MPM® Certified Master Project Manager for
Information Technology certification program is a 32 hour
program which includes examination that must be taken at
the end of the program. Unlike others, this program
integrates project management knowledge areas with the
processes defined in the system development life so an IT
Project Manager can utilize the processes, tools,
techniques, and key project management areas of
knowledge needed to successfully manage software
development projects.
This program discusses the concept of the client-server
model, and how the client applications and database
applications work in a distributed processing environment.
Individual with some knowledge in application
development will gain significant advantage in the learning
process, however past records indicate that professionals
with experience in other domains of information
technology have successfully completed and conferred
with the certification.
Duration: 32 hours
Gain the skills, knowledge and tools you need to start running each stage of the project life-cycle. You will learn to work within
organizational and cost constraints and set goals tied directly to stakeholder needs. Get the most from your team and learn to
utilize project management tools to get work done on time and within budget. Learn a comprehensive and thorough approach to
project management from the early stages of defining project requirements -to developing work breakdown structures, project
change control and closeout.

IT Project Management
An IT project is unique that require a specialized methodology and processes to manage it successfully. This module discusses the
definition of project management, the attributes of a project, constraints and assumptions that a project manager will have to
deal with in managing an information technology project.
System Development Life Cycle
This module present a summary of the system development life cycle, which includes System Initiation, System Requirements,
System Design, System Construction, System Acceptance, and System Implementation.
Project Organization
A project organization is a structure that facilitates the coordination and implementation of project activities. This module include
discussion of IT project organization structure, how it interact with internal and external project stakeholders, and ensuring that
the project management processes are being executed based on the agreed framework approved by the management
committee.
Client-Server Architecture System development based upon the Client-server architecture has been widely adopted by leading
technology companies. This module discusses the concept of the client-server model, and how the client applications and
database applications work in a distributed processing environment.
System Initiation Business Case and Proposed Solution developed during conceptual phase are re-examined to ensure that they
are still appropriately defined and address an existing organizational need. This validation effort provides the Project Team with
the basis for a detailed schedule defining the steps needed to obtain a thorough understanding of the business requirements and
an initial view of staffing needs.
System Requirements The Project Manager leads the Project Team in working with the Customers to define what it is that the
new system must do. By obtaining a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the business requirements, the Project Team
can develop the Functional Specification that will drive the system design.
System Design which builds upon the work performed during System Requirements Analysis, and results in a translation of the
functional requirements into a complete technical solution. This solution dictates the technical architecture, standards,
specifications and strategies to be followed throughout the building, testing, and implementation of the system.
System Construction throughout which the Project Team builds and tests the various modules of the application, including any
utilities that will be needed during System Acceptance and System Implementation. As system components are built, they will be
tested both individually and in logically related and integrated groupings until such time as a full system test has been performed
to validate functionality.
System Acceptance during which the focus of system validation efforts shifts from those team members responsible for
developing the application to those who will ultimately use the system in the execution of their daily responsibilities. In addition to
confirming that the system meets functional expectations, activities are aimed at validating all aspects of data conversion and
system deployment.
System Implementation the final phase of the lifecycle, which comprises all activities associated with the deployment of the
application. These efforts include training, installation of the system in a production setting, and transition of ownership of the
application from the Project Team to the Performing Organization. The final process is the closure of a project that should include
contract closure and administrative closure.

This MPM® Certified Master Project Manager for Information Technology certification program is a 32 hour program which includes examination that must be taken at the end of the program. Unlike others, this program integrates project management knowledge areas with the processes defined in the system development life so an IT Project Manager can utilize the processes, tools, techniques, and key project management areas of knowledge needed to successfully manage software development projects. This program discusses the concept of the client-server model, and how the client applications and database applications work in a distributed processing environment. Individual with some knowledge in application development will gain significant advantage in the learning process, however past records indicate that professionals with experience in other domains of information technology have successfully completed and conferred with the certification.

Learn a comprehensive and thorough approach to project management from the early stages of defining project requirements -to developing work breakdown structures, project change control and closeout. Course Outline © Copyright AAPM® SYSENEG Academy of Project Management IT Project Management An IT project is unique that require a specialized methodology and processes to manage it successfully. This module discusses the definition of project management, the attributes of a project, constraints and assumptions that a project manager will have to deal with in managing an information technology project. System Development Life Cycle This module present a summary of the system development life cycle, which includes System Initiation, System Requirements, System Design, System Construction, System Acceptance, and System Implementation. Project Organization A project organization is a structure that facilitates the coordination and implementation of project activities. This module include discussion of IT project organization structure, how it interact with internal and external project stakeholders, and ensuring that the project management processes are being executed based on the agreed framework approved by the management committee. Client-Server Architecture System development based upon the Client-server architecture has been widely adopted by leading technology companies. This module discusses the concept of the client-server model, and how the client applications and database applications work in a distributed processing environment. System Initiation Business Case and Proposed Solution developed during conceptual phase are re-examined to ensure that they are still appropriately defined and address an existing organizational need. This validation effort provides the Project Team with the basis for a detailed schedule defining the steps needed to obtain a thorough understanding of the business requirements and an initial view of staffing needs. System Requirements The Project Manager leads the Project Team in working with the Customers to define what it is that the new system must do. By obtaining a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the business requirements, the Project Team can develop the Functional Specification that will drive the system design. System Design which builds upon the work performed during System Requirements Analysis, and results in a translation of the functional requirements into a complete technical solution. This solution dictates the technical architecture, standards, specifications and strategies to be followed throughout the building, testing, and implementation of the system. System Construction throughout which the Project Team builds and tests the various modules of the application, including any utilities that will be needed during System Acceptance and System Implementation. As system components are built, they will be tested both individually and in logically related and integrated groupings until such time as a full system test has been performed to validate functionality. System Acceptance during which the focus of system validation efforts shifts from those team members responsible for developing the application to those who will ultimately use the system in the execution of their daily responsibilities. In addition to confirming that the system meets functional expectations, activities are aimed at validating all aspects of data conversion and system deployment. System Implementation the final phase of the lifecycle, which comprises all activities associated with the deployment of the application. These efforts include training, installation of the system in a production setting, and transition of ownership of the application from the Project Team to the Performing Organization. The final process is the closure of a project that should include contract closure and administrative closure.
