Difference between V belt and Timing Belt
V Belt:-
 V belt is the belt seen externally under the bonnet driving the water pump, alternator for
batterychargingand the coolingfandrive forthe radiator. Another V belt is also found to drive
the air-conpulleyfromthe same crankshaftpulley.Worn out belts can be visually inspected by
their look or by slackness beyond tension adjustment.
 V-belts were the standard accessory [alt, Power steering, WP, AC] drive belt before the
serpentines.
