working of the company as per the culture
of the country.
Ex: Mc Donald's has different outlets for
men & women in Saudi Arabia because of
their cultural system.
Strategy includes diversification into
different areas of the industry.
Ex: Aditya Birla Group has recently
diversified into retail sector as a part of
their strategy.
Strategy includes a cumulative effort on
the part of industry.
Ex: Tetra Pack industry is giving
advertisements of tetra packs for milk and
juice collectively.
 While formulation of strategy timing plays a
crucial role that is the reason of
advertisements of particular products in
particular season.
 Ex: HUL and P&G fight for shampoo
advertisement where HUL gave
advertisement of dove within a time span of 2
days against Pantene mystery advertisement
of P&G saying there is no mystery and dove
is the best shampoo.
Strategy involve experiments for product
development, market development,
diversification and innovation.
Ex: Cuppa mania of maggi noodles is an
experiment on the part of nestle.
Ex: Foodles of horlicks experimented with
new and healthy ingredients with noodles.
Every company has a strategy to satisfy its
customers in order to bring to bring long
term success.
Ex: Swift gave advertisement in
newspaper after selling 1st 1,00,000 cars
for thanking their customers and for telling
good experiences of customers for further
sales. It increases customer’s satisfaction
for being part of the group.
Companies combine together by joint
ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
Ex: Kingfisher and Jet Airways combined
together to capture market.
Ex: Microsoft and Yahoo joint venture to
fight google.
Companies forecast the trends and study
the pattern of market and plan in order to
capture the market share.
Ex: e-bay introduced the concept of
customer to customer (C2C) selling
market.
Companies explore the market in order to
make customers realizes their needs and
use this concept to enter the market or
fight back competition.
Ex: i-pad of Apple is a new exploration for
voracious readers.
Companies change their whole
organization in order to match the market,
customers and competitors.
 Ex: Bajaj changed from scooters to
bikes/motorcycles in order to match the
market demand.
Ex: Jet Airways laid off their employees
which is also a strategy of change.
Reactive means the company faces any
problem and then introduce some strategy
to fight back problem.
Proactive means taking steps in advance
for future problems.
Ex of Reactive: Tata Nano faced problem
in sales and then they realized that the
problem is in advertisement targeting so
now recently they have launched new ads.
Ex of Proactive: Google is providing
Android free to the companies to increase
its advertisement market.
Strategy of a company to introduce small
packaging is a tool to capture bottom of
pyramid.
Ex: Small packing of “Act II” popcorns.
 Strategy is formulated with a plan for
implementation so the most important part
of strategy is converting a plan on paper to
reality.
Ex: The concept of 1 Lakh car (people’s
car) by Tata nano is implemented after 4
Years of R&D.
Strategy is based on learning from the
previous failure or mistake.
Language plays an important role while
moving to other countries but due to some
mistakes they fail.
Ex: IBM tagline makes the world smaller
was interpreted wrongly in china makes
the people small as result it failed

the requirement which is called flexibility

It is the strategy of the company to follow a
pattern to achieve their goals .
Ex: Tata Group is famous for loyalty to the
customers whether it is Tata nano or any
other product they are loyal moreover their
efforts in the field of corporate social
responsibility also focus on loyalty.
Company’s success depends upon their
knowledge of market so as to put in efforts
in right direction at right time.
Ex: Tata and fiat joined together when fiat
wanted to enter the market for distribution
in India because Tata's knowledge of
market.
Strategy of the company is to adopt new
changes along with basic concept.
Ex: Kurkure introduces new flavor of “Raj
ma”
