UN UNESCO OER Recommendations,
the Way Forward for Member Countries
MONITORING
(a) deploying appropriate research mechanisms to
measure the effectiveness and efficiency of OER
policies and incentives against defined
objectives;
(b) collecting and disseminating progress, good
practices, innovations and research reports on
OER and its implications with the support of
UNESCO and international open education
communities; and
(c) developing strategies to monitor the educational
effectiveness and long-term financial efficiency
of OER, which include participation of all relevant
stakeholders. Such strategies could focus on
improving learning processes and strengthening
the connections between findings, decision-
making, transparency, and accountability to
inclusive and equitable quality education and
research.

UNESCO OER RECOMMENDATIONS
TAKE PART - Global Survey on OER
The ICDE OER Advocacy Committee (OERAC), promoting and supporting the implementation of
the UNESCO Recommendation on OER across the globe, has prepared a survey in which you are
invited to participate in.
The OERAC would like to gather feedback from ICDE stakeholders, members and partners about the
status of the UNESCO Recommendation's implementation globally, in the context of the COVID-19
Pandemic.
The deadline to respond is 31 July 2020. ICDE encourages you to share the survey with people with
knowledge about OER in your network(s).

UN UNESCO OER Recommendations, the Way Forward for Member Countries MONITORING (a) deploying appropriate research mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of OER policies and incentives against defined objectives; (b) collecting and disseminating progress, good practices, innovations and research reports on OER and its implications with the support of UNESCO and international open education communities; and (c) developing strategies to monitor the educational effectiveness and long-term financial efficiency of OER, which include participation of all relevant stakeholders. Such strategies could focus on improving learning processes and strengthening the connections between findings, decision- making, transparency, and accountability to inclusive and equitable quality education and research.
