character of Clash of the
Titans. She was
portrayed by Vida Taylor
in the 1981 film and by
Tine Stapelfeldt in the
2010 remake.
In Greek mythology,
Danae was a daughter of
King Acrisiusof Argos an
d Eurydice (no relation to
Orpheus' Eurydice). She
was the mother
of Perseus by Zeus. She
was sometimes credited
with founding the city of

She was a virgin goddess

uncle, Poseidon raped her
favorite priestess, Medusa,
she was outraged. Not at
her uncle for his crime, but
at Medusa for losing her
