INTRODUCTION
Group dynamics is a set of behavior and
psychological process that occur with in a
social group or between he groups . It depend
on nature of group .
DEFINITION
Group:-
According To Johnson & Johanson
A group may be define as a numbers of
individual who join together to achieve a goal.
People join group to achieve goal that they can
not be achieve alone.
Group dynamics
A branch of social psychology which
studies problem involving the structure of a
group.
A filed of social psychology concern with
the nature of human group. Their development
and their interaction with individual other
groups and larger organization.
Types of group
Formal groups
Informal group
Primary group
Secondary group
Social group
Reference group
Functional
Problem solving
Stages of group development FIVE STAGES
I. Forming :-Group members get to know
each other and reach common goals.
II. Storming :-Group members disagree on
direction and leadership. Conflict may
arise but more clarity to purpose
I. Norming :-Clear roles and responsibilities
and adjustment develop between group
members.
II. Performing :-The group begins to do its goal
and purpose.
III. Adjourning :-Only for task completion and
good feeling about this.

As To Why Groups Develops-
A Classic Theory
Social Exchange Theory
Social Identity Theory
A CLASSIC THEORY
Developed by George Homans,
• suggests that groups develop based on activities
interactions, and sentiments.
• individuals share common activities,
• they will have more interaction.
• develop attitudes (positive or negative) toward
each other.
The major clement in this theory is the interaction of
the individuals involved.
SOCIAL EXCHANGE THEORY
• According to this theory individuals form
relationships based on the implicit expectation
of mutually beneficial exchanges based on
trust and felt obligation.
• A perception that exchange relationships will
be positive is essential if individuals are to be
attracted to and affiliate with a group.
• Offers an alternative explanation for group
development.
SOCIAL IDENTITY THEORY
• This theory suggests that individuals get a sense
of identity and self-esteem based upon their
membership in salient groups.
• The nature of the group may be demographically
based, culturally based, or organizationally based.
• Individuals are motivated to belong to and
contribute to identity groups because of the sense
of belongingness and self-worth membership in
the group imparts.
Objective
• To identify and analyze the group process that
impact on group development.
• To acquire the skills necessary to interviewing
and improve individual.
