relaxation

7. The Spiritual Dimension
Listen carefully
Try reaching back
Examine your motives
Write your worries on the sand
9. The Social Dimension
This is the true joy in life – that being used for a purpose recognized by
yourself as a mighty one. That being a force of nature, instead of a
feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that
the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion
that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live it is
my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up
when I die. For the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its
own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It’s a sort of splendid
torch which I’ve got to hold up for the moment and I want to make
it burn as brightly as possible before handling it on to future
generations.
-George Bernard Shaw-
11. SCRIPTING OTHERS
“Treat a man as he is and he
will remain as he is. Treat a
man as he can and should be
and he will become as he can
and should be.”
12. BALANCE IN RENEWEL
The self-renewal process must include balanced renewal in all
four dimensions of our nature: the physical, the spiritual, the
mental and the social/emotional.
Any dimension that is neglected will create negative force field
resistance that pushes against effectiveness and growth.
14. THE UPWARD SPIRAL
Renewal is the principle and the process that
empowers us to move on an upward spiral of
growth and change of continuous improvement.
15. The conclusion
“Some day, in the years to come, you will be wrestling with the
great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life.
But the real struggle is here,
Now…
It is being decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or
temptation, you shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer.
Character cannot be made except by a steady, long
continued process.
