What & why?
To implement the MoU signed 2001 between Finland and
Israel for cooperation in the field of industrial research and
development
To increase and support Finnish and Israeli organisations’
cooperation
To offer R&D performing companies and research institutes a
great opportunity to collaborate with the most advanced
players in Finland and Israel
To provide public funding to qualified projects and qualified
participants by national authorities:
the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in Israel and Tekes, the
Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation in
Finland

Project proposals on industrial research and development of
innovative products and applications in different technology
areas
Announcement and application forms will be publish on Tekes
and Matimop webpages
Participants
at least one Israeli and one Finnish commercial company
Call Ministry of
Industry, Trade and
Labor (MOITAL)
Two phase procedure Office of the
Chief Scientis t
Phase 1: A short project outlines submitted to MATIMOP and Tekes.
The outlines will be screened and evaluated by the joint appraisal
committee.
Phase 2: Partners with approved outlines will be invited to submit
national funding applications according to the national rules of Tekes

Submission and evaluation
Phase 1: Identical applications to FIT committee in both countries.
FIT program committee and evaluators from both countries make a
joint decision
Phase 2: Local funding application forms and local evaluation
procedures at each side and joint decisions of both countries
Funding
Each agency funds the local participants according to the
local regulations and conditions

project participants finance their costs from own funds,
capital market or the applicable national or regional funding
schemes
OCS and Tekes have earmarked a budget of up to 5 million
