2. Our target Audience
Our target audience is the people of Camden.
This is a very broad target audience because
Camden is a large borough with a lot of people in
it. There are posh conservatives in Hampstead
and working and middle class liberals in Camden
Town. So we had to find a way to address our
whole target audience. I’m homosexual.
3. What Our target audience
likeLike I said, our target audience is very broad and
they like different things. However there are some
traits which a lot of them like which we found out
during our primary research. Firstly, the majority like
the BBC because it offers a non-biased, free, news
source. This showed us that to succeed we would
need to create a non-biased news bulletin. Also they
wanted news that was for Camden because news
sources like the BBC only do Middlesex news and
non specifically to Camden therefore we would have
to create news stories that only apply to the people
of Camden and only effect the workers and
residents of Camden.
4. How we
attracted/address our
target audience2) The first way we attracted our audience is through
a non-biased news bulletin. We don’t have a
conservative or liberal agenda, we just talk about the
top stories for people in Camden and things that will
effect them. For example with our politics story we
just state the facts about what is happening with
Brexit. Although we mentioned the labour point of
view, it remains not biased.
5. How we
attracted/address our
target audience2) Secondly we have a recognizable, professional
jingle which people would easily recognize
compared to other news bulletins. It sounds like a
professional news theme like the BBC which is
something that we found out the people of Camden
like. This attracts our target audience because they
like professional news programs like the BBC and
our tune sounds a lot like the BBC.
6. How we
attracted/address our
target audience3) Also we attracted our target audience by
writing about news stories exclusively to
Camden. 4 out of our seven apply only to the
citizens of Camden, this attracts them because
during our research we found out that the people
of Camden want a news bulletin specifically
about them. The news series below are our
examples.
7. How we
attracted/address our
target audience4) Also in our radio broadcast, we
used colorful language. This is
because typically in Camden
(according to Civfanatics.com)
there is a large middle class
population. This means that the
people of Camden are university
educated and come from slightly
privileged backgrounds meaning
that they understand colorful and
sophisticated language. Therefore
we used it in our show.
8. How we
attracted/address our
target audience5) Another convention we used was to have an
inviting presenter. The presenter is the first
person that you hear over the sound of Big Ben.
The presenter states his name, the time and the
radio bulletin name. This makes the source
reliable because it announces the name meaning
it must come from a valuable source.
