  and
  discovering

  that
  there
  is
  always
  a
  gap
  in

  to

•  As
   part
   of

  We
  were

•  I
  then
  started
  to
  ask

  about
  the
  reason
  why
  “Pokemon

would
  not
  performing
  as

•  Discussion
  started
  to
  flow
  and
  we
  finally
  agreed
  that

the
  lack

  efficiency
  by
  the

•  We
   later
   discovered
   that
   the
   App
   did
   not
   expect
   such
   a
   huge
   success
   and

consequently
   the

   had
   not
   not
   invested

  • 7. Curious  about  sport   and  trying  new  things   I  have  been  pracAcing  so  many  sports  –  even  extreme  ones  -‐  and  I  like  them   all.  I  am  eager  to  try  new  ones!
  • 8. Curiosity  driving  success   •  Among  the  different  events  of  my  life  where  I  think  curiosity  helped  me  to  move   on,  a  special  moment  was  during  my  university  summer  campus  in  July  2018   •  As   part   of   the   course   in   strategy,   the   different   teams   had   to   prepare   a   final   presentaAon  on  a  case  study  on  a  popular  App:  “Pokemon  GO”   •  In  my  team  there  were  4  students  from  3  different  naAonaliAes  who  had  just  met   a  couple  of  weeks  before.  We  had  a  topic  to  discuss  and  an  effecAve  presentaAon   to  complete  and  deliver   •  During  our  meeAngs,  we  were  always  going  around  the  App  and  the  market  status   without   really   analyzing   the   actual   problems   and   finding   a   conclusion   to   our   studies.  We  were  starAng  to  feel  pressure  …   •  I  then  started  to  ask  quesAons  to  the  team  about  the  reason  why  “Pokemon  go”   would  not  performing  as  expected   •  Discussion  started  to  flow  and  we  finally  agreed  that  the  main  issue  of  the  app  was   the  lack  of  efficiency  by  the  program  as  many  users  complained  about  lags       •  We   later   discovered   that   the   App   did   not   expect   such   a   huge   success   and   consequently   the   company   had   not   not   invested   adequately   in   the   program   development     •  This  helped  us  to  move  on  in  our  discussion  and  presentaAon  with  an  effecAve   acAon  plan  …  we  won  the  first  prize!
  • 9. Curiosity  as  a  key  trait  of  growing   “We  keep  moving  forward,  opening  new  doors,  and  doing  new  things,  because  we're  curious   and  curiosity  keeps  leading  us  down  new  paths”   (Walt  Disney)   •  I  grew  up  asking  quesAons  and  being  open  to  new  ideas.  I  have  always  tried  to  explore  new   and  befer  soluAons  to  the  issues  I  was  facing  at  school  or  having  to  live  in  a  place  different   from  my  country  of  origin,  with  very  specific  rules  and  culture   •  QuesAoning  has  always  helped  me  to  befer  engage  with  my  school-‐mates  and  friends  and   to   take   different   perspecAves.   My   friends   from   Italy   have   different   ideas   or   views   from   mine  as  well  as  my  locals  friends  here.  This  makes  it  more  interesAng  to  me  and  more   enriching   •  Curiosity  pushes  me  to  new  challenges,  new  experiences  and  to  create  new  opportuniAes.  I   do  not  wish  to  conAnue  live  and  study  in  Singapore,  even  if  universiAes  in  the  City-‐State   are  excellent  and  my  family  lives  there.  I  want  to  try  myself  in  a  totally  new  context.   •  Curiosity  allows  me  to  think  criAcally  and  help  me  to  overcome  fear  in  hard  situaAons.   •  Curiosity  contributes  to  shape  my  leadership.  I  know  I  have  a  long  way  to  go  in  this  regard   but  I  enjoy  the  journey!   This  is  why  I  believe  this  trait  of  mine  can  be  highly  valuable  and  beneficial  to  IE  and  its   community  on  the  way  to  understand  the  world
