Understanding Grammar
(a lot/lost of, much/many, a little/little, a few/few)
These are words used to describe the quantity of something.

We usually use a lot of in statements and use
many and much in questions and negative
sentences.

The differences between (many/much, a few/few, a little/little):
many: countable nouns. much: uncountable nouns
e.g. I have many friends. e.g. I have so much money.
a little: a small amount but enough; some.
a few : a small number but enough; some.
e.g. I have a little money. (=I have some money)
e.g. I have a few friends. (= I have some friends)
few : a small number but not enough; not many. little: a small amount but not enough; not much.
e.g. I have few friends. (=I almost have no friend) e.g. I have little money. (=I almost have no money)
Note:
A lot of & lots of have the same meaning, but lots of is informal.
