OBJECTIVES:
Demonstrates proper etiquette and safety in the
use of facilities and equipment
Explains how to optimize the energy systems
for safe and improved performance
Be responsible and safety-conscious in using
physical activity equipment and facilities.
DEFINITION OF
TERMS
• Equipment - the necessary items for a particular purpose
• Facility- a place, amenity or piece of equipment provided for
a particular purpose
• Safety Management- is managing business activities and
applying principles, framework, and processes to help prevent
accidents and injuries and to minimize other risks
• Injured - harmed, damaged or impaired
• Accident- an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly
and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury
• Negligence- failure to take proper care in doing something,
resulting in damage or injury to oneself or to another
• Incident- an event or occurrence
• Hazardous- risky, dangerous
• Physical Activity - movement of the body that uses energy

Philippines, 36.6% of Filipinos 20 years old and
above are either overweight or obese based on WHO
BMI cutoff points (FNRI, 2019). The obesity issue is
definitely closer to home. The FNRI nationwide

were considered physically inactive in 2019.”

leave or pass on
equipment that is in
complete disarray or
dirty.
Be Alert and
Aware in the
training area.
In performing
exercises and
movement in
general, practice
good form first.
Bring back all
equipment in
place after use.
Do not hug the
equipment.
Return the
equipment
properly or leave
the venue clean.
Check Yourself.
Practice proper
hygiene and care.
Do not loiter around the venue or hang on
the equipment doing nothing.
Remember to be
nice, as a general
rule!
