2. SNMP
Simple Network Management Protocol is called SNMP for short.
Information from the equipment is collected, and it observes and it controls.
The router and the hub can be observed by using SNMP besides an active
equipment such as computers.
3. Network management system
A Network Management System (NMS) is a combination of hardware and
software used to monitor and administer a network.
Individual network elements (NEs) in a network are managed by an element
management system.
4. MIB
Management information base is called MIB for short.
MIB stems from the OSI/ISO Network management model and is a type
of database used to manage the devices in a communications network.
It comprises a collection of objects in a (virtual) database used to manage
entities (such as routers and switches) in a network.
5. UPS
Uninterruptible power supply is called UPS for short.
UPS also known as a battery back-up provides emergency power and,
depending on the topology, provide line regulation as well to connected
equipment by supplying power from a separate source when utility power
is not available. It differs from an auxiliary power supply or standby generator,
which does not provide instant protection from a momentary power interruption.
A UPS, however, can be used to provide uninterrupted power to equipment,
typically for 5-15 minutes until a emergency power system can be turned on or
utility power is restored.
