WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY (CA) DUAL DEGREE ENGINEERING
PROGRAM
What is better than an undergraduate degree in Engineering from a U.S.
university? Degrees from two respected U.S. universities. With the Whitworth Dual Degree
program, students can begin an engineering education while leaving open their choices of a final
engineering school and specialty. Upon successfully completing the Whitworth pre-engineering
curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA, students are assured enrollment in one of the partner
engineering schools: Columbia University, Washington University in St. Louis, University of
Southern California, Washington State University, and Seattle Pacific University.
Students will receive two separate Bachelor of Science degrees, one from Whitworth University,

is no application fee for international students. We are accepting applications for Spring, 2014 and
Fall, 2014. The application deadline is November 1, 2013, for the spring 2014 semester, and April 1,

MISSOURI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (MO) AACSBACCREDITED PROGRAMS
Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) has earned initial
accreditation of its business and information technology degree programs by the
longest-serving global accrediting body for business and accounting programs.
Missouri S&T’s Bachelor of Science in business and management systems,
Bachelor of Science in information science and technology, Master of Business Administration and
Master of Science in information science and technology degree programs all received accreditation
from the Board of Directors of AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business.
In achieving this designation, Missouri S&T joins an elite group of institutions that have achieved
business accreditation from AACSB International. Only 655 institutions hold AACSB accreditation
for business – or fewer than 5% worldwide.
“Our departmental emphasis on preparing students for business and innovation in a technologydriven world makes our program distinctive. Now, we also have the AACSB International’s seal of
approval that lets the world know we adhere to the most rigorous standards of quality,” says Dr.
Keng L. Siau, chair of the business and information technology department. “I’m very proud of the
work of our faculty and staff, and most importantly the achievements of our students, in meeting
AACSB International’s standard of excellence for business education.”

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY (SD) INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION
KICKS-OFF SPRING SEMESTER
South Dakota State University welcomed 65 new international students to campus
this spring. Starting January 6, students participated in a three-day Orientation
event, featuring sessions to help prepare for life at SDSU and in the United States.
Topics included language support, money and banking, immigration, and a roundtable discussion on American culture.
“I attended the orientation sessions where I was able to meet other new international students and
current students who were all helpful, friendly and welcoming,” said Shantelle Ferguson-Coakley,
mother of new SDSU student Shaunte Ferguson-Coakley of the Bahamas. “I thought on my
departure I would have wept, sobbed and hollered because I was leaving my only baby. But none of
that happened. I left with a peace that SDSU is a great institution, the staff and students are
supportive, and Brookings is a safe and livable community.”
More than 70 different countries are currently represented within the SDSU student population; since
fall 2012, the total international student population has increased by more than 25%.
Applications are now being accepted for fall semester which begins August 2014. The SDSU Office
of International Affairs is the hub for international student services and undergraduate admissions,
ESL programs, study abroad planning and community connections programs.

  • 5. MISSOURI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (MO) AACSBACCREDITED PROGRAMS Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) has earned initial accreditation of its business and information technology degree programs by the longest-serving global accrediting body for business and accounting programs. Missouri S&T’s Bachelor of Science in business and management systems, Bachelor of Science in information science and technology, Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in information science and technology degree programs all received accreditation from the Board of Directors of AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In achieving this designation, Missouri S&T joins an elite group of institutions that have achieved business accreditation from AACSB International. Only 655 institutions hold AACSB accreditation for business – or fewer than 5% worldwide. “Our departmental emphasis on preparing students for business and innovation in a technologydriven world makes our program distinctive. Now, we also have the AACSB International’s seal of approval that lets the world know we adhere to the most rigorous standards of quality,” says Dr. Keng L. Siau, chair of the business and information technology department. “I’m very proud of the work of our faculty and staff, and most importantly the achievements of our students, in meeting AACSB International’s standard of excellence for business education.” For more information, please visit: http://bit.ly/177ZSzN UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS (KS) BEGINS CONSTRUCTION ON NEW SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Construction is underway at the University of Kansas School of Business for a $65.7 million building project. • 6. SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY (SD) INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION KICKS-OFF SPRING SEMESTER South Dakota State University welcomed 65 new international students to campus this spring. Starting January 6, students participated in a three-day Orientation event, featuring sessions to help prepare for life at SDSU and in the United States. Topics included language support, money and banking, immigration, and a roundtable discussion on American culture. “I attended the orientation sessions where I was able to meet other new international students and current students who were all helpful, friendly and welcoming,” said Shantelle Ferguson-Coakley, mother of new SDSU student Shaunte Ferguson-Coakley of the Bahamas. “I thought on my departure I would have wept, sobbed and hollered because I was leaving my only baby. But none of that happened. I left with a peace that SDSU is a great institution, the staff and students are supportive, and Brookings is a safe and livable community.” More than 70 different countries are currently represented within the SDSU student population; since fall 2012, the total international student population has increased by more than 25%. Applications are now being accepted for fall semester which begins August 2014. The SDSU Office of International Affairs is the hub for international student services and undergraduate admissions, ESL programs, study abroad planning and community connections programs.
