 Wipro was incorporated on 29 December1945, in Mumbai by
Mohamed Premji.
 Wipro Limited is an Indian multinational IT Consulting and System
Integration services company headquartered in Bangalore, India.
 Wipro, previously known as ‘Western India Vegetable Products
Limited’, initially set up as a manufacturer of vegetable and refined
oils.
 The company has many business units like IT Services, R&D Services,
BPO, Infrastructure Services, Consulting.
 After the death of Mohamed Premji,his son Azim premji took over
the company at the age of 21 in 1966.
 The CEO of Wipro is Abid Ali Z Neemuchwala.
 Wipro currently has 1,62,553 employees across the globe.
 Wipro is one of the largest companies listed in BSE, NSE, and NYSE.
 Total revenue was US $8.4 billion as per the statement published on
31st March 2018.
 Vision:
The vision of Wipro includes being a leader in areas of business,
customer and people.
 Mission:
The company aims to be among the best IT company in India and the
world. Its goals also include being the first choice among customers
and employees.
 Wipro arrived in the IT domain in the year 1980 headed by Azim
Premji.
 It is the seventh largest IT service provider company in the world.
 Wipro Limited is a global provider of comprehensive IT solutions and
services, including Systems Integration, Consulting, Information
Systems outsourcing, IT-enabled services, R&D services.
 Wipro is the world’s largest 3rd party R&D service provider.
 This company earns US$ 8.1 billions from IT services and has 54
clients across the globe.
 First service provider in SEI level 5 in the world.
 Wipro BPO founded in 2002 and it has offices in many major cities in
India as well as in abroad.
 It has 44 clients in segments such as banking and capital markets,
insurance, travel and hospitality, hi-tech manufacturing telecom,
healthcare.
 The majority of Wipro BPO’s business comes from the US, followed
by Europe.
 Wipro consumer care and lightning (WCCLG) is one of the known and
successful brand in FMCG sector.
 In early days Wipro used to sell vegetable oil under brand name
‘Sunflower Vanaspati’.
 It sells personal care products such as Wipro Baby Soft, Wipro
Safewash, Toilet Soaps, Santoor and Chandrika as well as Yardley.
 It sells food items such as Glucovita, Sweet and Healthy tab.
 It sells lightning products including Smartlite CFL, LED and
Emergency lights.

according to the Brand Trust Report, a study conducted by Trust
Research Advisory.
 Wipro received the 'NASSCOM’ Corporate Award for Excellence
in Diversity and Inclusion, 2012.
 It received National award for excellence in Corporate
Governance from the Institute of Company Secretaries of
India during the year 2004.
