Being worked as Agile practitioner for many years, I became known face of Agile among my colleague and I was started feeling that I know everything about Agile, but one day my friend from outside IT world asked me very basic question which brought me down in a moment. He asked me what kind of work you do in office. As usual being Manager I explained everything in management terms. Somehow I felt he is not convinced. He asked next question if you say Agile Methodology is inspired from life then can I give him simple real time example which is not related to software world which will help him easy to understand. To be honest that time I was completely speechless, then decided to give them real time example so it can be relate with it.
  4. Few years back, I purchased farm house land & Farm house development idea was going through my mind. Thought of building farm house with Agile principal, is it possible ? If I succeed then I can get double benefited. One answer to my kid’s question and implementation of agile in real time. That was one of the awesome decision in my life. It change my view towards Agile project management & I can understood agile much better.   There are 2 aspect of this article. First implementation of Agile in real life example and story of development of farm house.   When farm house, idea initiated in mind. I have visited many farm houses and various web sites just to get an idea. There are many ideas comes up while discussion with friends & professional sites. Now need to frizz everything before going to actual development. As it is Farm house no financial institution ready to give loan & I was having limited finance resources available so need to do expense very wisely.

  6. Thanks Jaya. 1) You’ve dedicated 5-6 slides for persona (friends, kids, parents). Those looks like too much of elaborate requirement and there is no direct linkage of your case studies with each slides. May we request you to please consider consolidating the requirements in couple of slides. Yogesh : I kept each persona separate which helped me to create vision and their expectations gives me clear idea what different persona's expectations from farm house. It's quick slides not more than 1 min per side. 2) You discussed about Scrum Master but you didn’t mentioned who was your Scrum Master. Yogesh : SM was 'Superwiser' of the project who was there with the team all the time and co-ordinated with me (PO) for work like additional materials procurement, water management, making sure things are going as per plan etc and updated me concerns, queries over call / whatsapp. 3) Adding details like how you reviewed your work progress like a product owner does after every sprint ? You can say that your weekend job was to do the demo / review. This information will really help. Yogesh : Yes, as working professional it was difficult for me to present on site all the time so I visited over weekend and checked progress. There was Thursday holiday for team as electricity is not available on Thursday. Every Sunday we conduct demo where we cross checked what was our sprint goal and what we achieved. 4) Please also discuss about some problems you’ve faced during these executions and how Scrum Practices helps you to overcome the same Yogesh : This was most interesting part as I was very new to this construction line and their working style. As individual team member I ask each of them about their view on the US and showed pictures which I collected from various places to tell them what was use of that US. Initially they hesitate to suggest something as no one ever asked them for suggestions but as time progresses then given me so many small suggestions which saves my cost and convert idea into meaningful work. For example initially I was planning to build only underground water storage tank but they told me club swimming pool US with that as same material required to build both of them, this saves my lots of money as in one time i called excavator (JCB) for work which was usually cost more. like this many more examples. I like to speak on these part as time permit at the end of session.
