2. Biography
Tahir Teymur oglu Salahov was born on the 29th
November 1928 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Tahir Salahov studied at the Azimzade Art College
in Baku in 1945–1950 and then at the Surikov
Moscow Art Institute between 1951 and 1957.
His diploma work, The Shift is
Over, was exhibited in 1957 at
the Moscow Art Exhibition and
received public and critical
appreciation.
He is well known for realism.

3. His Work
One of his best known paintings is the portrait of the famous
Azerbaijani composer - Gara Garayev (1960) exhibited in Tretyakov
Gallery, Moscow.

4. His Achievements
Tahir Salahov choses contrasting red, black, light- and dark-grey
tones.
Tahir Salahov is an owner of many awards:
He currently lives in Moscow, where he is a professor and has a
studio at the Moscow Art Institute
