sugar-added beverage consumption
Overweight and obesity represents an enormous public health issue in Mexico

statistics)?
Reducing or controlling sugar-added beverages will improve health

Yes, we can conclude that sugar-added beverages cause overweight and obesity and other diseases
2. It is also possible to conclude that IEPS of 1 peso will help to reduce obesity and overweight
5 Is the person’s point of view derived from his or her research?
Yes, I can observe that there exist a lot of assumptions in this article as he/she dosen’t mention any article related to sugar-
added beverage consumptions and obesity or that increasing IEPS of this kind beverages will diminish the consumption of
this.
6 How are you ordering your own arguments (to avoid being unfocused)?
In the first paragraph the author mentions the arguments of calling public policies in order to reduce sugar-added beverage
consumption. Then in the next paragraph the author mentions that the Ministry of health is working in an strategy to control
diabetes and obesity. Then again mentions that they want that they want to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by non-
contagious chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, and to instrument actions for the prevention and controlof
overweight, obesity and diabetes. Separating the first paragraph where they talk about obesity and diabetes and the second
paragraph about chronic diseases causes to lose focus. I would put them together and then talk about the solution.
