PERIPHERAL INTERFACE CONTROLLER OR POPULARLY KNOWN AS THE PIC MICROCONTROLLER
IS USED IN THIS PROJECT.
PIC16F887 IS USED IN THE PROJECT FOR ALL THE LOGICAL AND MEMORY OPERATIONS IN THE
PROJECT.
PICKIT2 IS USED TO INTERFACE THE CONTROLLER TO THE PC AND TO BURN THE SOFTWARE TO
THE MICROCONTROLLER.
THE COMPONENTS
•LM35 IS USED AS THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR THE FIRE ALARM SYTEM.
•4 PIN PUSH BUTTONS ARE USED IN A 4*3 MATRIX TO ENTER THE PASSWORD ON
THE LOCK.
•GSM MODULE IS USED TO SEND THE REQUIRED MESSAGE TO THE DESIRED
PHONE NUMBERS.
•LCD DISPLAY SHOWS THE PASSWORD ENTERED.
•THE LEDS SHOW THE WHETHER THE PASSWORD ENTERED IS CORRECT OR NOT.
•THE BUZZER IS FOR THE ALARM TO RING TO ALERT PEOPLE IF THEY ARE INSIDE.

THE LM35 SENSOR MEASURES THE EXTERIOR TEMPERATURE AND
SENDS THE DATA TO PIC16F887.
THE PIC MICROCONTROLLER KEEPS ON COMPARING THE VALUES OF THE
HOME TO ENSURE SAFETY.
THE ADC CHANNEL CONVERTS THE ANALOG VALUE TO THE DIGITAL
VALUE FOR COMPARISION IN THE MICROCONTROLLER.
LM35 CONVERTS THE TEMPERATURE INTO MILLIVOLTS FOR THE PIC
MICROCONTROLLER SO THAT IT CAN BE CONVERTED TO ITS ANALOG
VALUE.
THE OUTPUT IN MILLIVOLT IS GIVEN
BY=(TEMP*10)mV
IT IS THEN CONVERTED INTO DIGITAL VALUE BY
THE FORMULA=(Vin*1023)/5
THE DIGITAL VALUE IS THEN COMPARED TO THE
STORED VALUE.
IF IT CROSSES THE THRESHOLD VALUE THE
COMMAND IS PROVIDED TO THE OUTPUT PORTS.
THE BUZZER STARTS TO RING
TO ALERT PEOPLE AROUND.
THE COMMANDS TO THE GSM
MODULE IS SENT THROUGH
USART PORT OF PIC16F887
THE GSM MODULE SENDS THE
MESSAGE TO THE SAVED
MOBILE NUMBER.

AND GSM MODULE

OF THE PASSWORD

KEYPAD MATRIX

• THE KEYPAD MATRIX IS USED TO ENTER THE PASSWORD
• THE USER HAS THREE CHANCES TO ENTER THE PASSWORD
CORRECTLY.
THE KEYPAD MATRIX
• THE CONTROLLER WILL COMPARE THE VALUES OF THE
PASSWORD ENTERED.
• IF PASSWORD MATCHED THE DOOR WILL OPEN, IF THE
COMBINATION DOESN’T MATCH FOR THE MORE THAN THREE
TIMES THE OUTPUT PORT WILL BE GIVEN COMMANDS.

THE REQUIREMENT OF A SECURITY SYSTEM IS PRETTY NECESSARY IN OUR DAY
TO DAY LIFE AS CRIME AND ACCIDENTS IS INCREASING DAY BY DAY. WE NEED TO
HAVE SECURITY PLUS THE INFORMATION OF SUCH ADVERSE ACCIDENTS MUST
BE BROUGHT TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF AUTHORITIES AND CONCERNED PEOPLE
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT WILL BE BENEFITING THE PEOPLE IN LONG TERM AS
HOUSEHOLD WILL BE MORE SECURE.
JUST IMAGINE THE POWER ONE MIGHT FEEL WHEN THEN CAN KEEP A TAB ON
THEIR PROPERTY EVEN WHEN THEY WILL BE MILES OR COUNTRIES APART.

YES THAT’S RIGHT IT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED AT ALL SECTORS FROM COMMERCIAL TO
INDUSTRIAL TO HOUSEHOLD SYSTEMS
SECURITY IS NEEDED EVERYWHERE, SO PRACTICALLY BUISNESS OVER THESE IDEAS CAN BE
IMPLEMENTED AT COMMERCIAL COMPLEXES LIKE MALLS, INDUSTRIAL PLACES AND
HOUSEHOLDS.
INDUSTRIES CAN PREVENT MILLIONS OF LOSSES, SPECIALLLY THE SMALL SCALE FACTORIES
WHICH CAN’T AFFORD HIGH COST SECURITY SYTEM.
THE HOUSEHOLDS AS EXPLAINED EARLIER CAN KEEP THEIR HOME SECURE WITH SUCH USE.
FUTURE ENHANCEMNET
THERE IS HUGE SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENT IN ENHANCEMENT IN THIS PROJECT.
A FULLY AUTOMATED HOME SYSTEM CAN BE DEVELOPED SLOWLY AND
THOROUGHLY.
SENSORS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED TO CHECK WHERE THE ELECTRICITY IS BEING
WASTED, AND CONTROL THE WASTAGE.
IN SHORT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS CAN BE CONTROLLED BY ELECTRONIC DEVICES.
KITCHEN AUTOMATION WHICH IS ON RISE CAN BE INTEGRATED IN ITS FUTURE
ENHANCEMENT.

PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION • POLICE STATIONS CAN BE DIRECTLY CONTACTED IN CASE OF THEFTS. • FIRE STATION CAN BE DIRECTLY CONTACTED IN CASE OF FIRE EMERGENCIES.

THE MICROCONTROLLER PERIPHERAL INTERFACE CONTROLLER OR POPULARLY KNOWN AS THE PIC MICROCONTROLLER IS USED IN THIS PROJECT. PIC16F887 IS USED IN THE PROJECT FOR ALL THE LOGICAL AND MEMORY OPERATIONS IN THE PROJECT. PICKIT2 IS USED TO INTERFACE THE CONTROLLER TO THE PC AND TO BURN THE SOFTWARE TO THE MICROCONTROLLER.

THE COMPONENTS •LM35 IS USED AS THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR THE FIRE ALARM SYTEM. •4 PIN PUSH BUTTONS ARE USED IN A 4*3 MATRIX TO ENTER THE PASSWORD ON THE LOCK. •GSM MODULE IS USED TO SEND THE REQUIRED MESSAGE TO THE DESIRED PHONE NUMBERS. •LCD DISPLAY SHOWS THE PASSWORD ENTERED. •THE LEDS SHOW THE WHETHER THE PASSWORD ENTERED IS CORRECT OR NOT. •THE BUZZER IS FOR THE ALARM TO RING TO ALERT PEOPLE IF THEY ARE INSIDE.

FIRE ALARM • SENSOR SENSES THE TEMPERATURE OF HOUSE TEMPERATURE SENSOR • ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERSION OF DATA • IF EXCESS HEAT THE COMMANDS ARE PASSED TO SEND MESSAGE AND BLOW THE ALARM PIC16F887 • GSM MODULE WILL SEND MESSAGES USING THE USART PORT OF PIC 16F887 • BUZZER WILL RING ALARM SO THAT EVERYONE IS PUT ON ALERT. GSM MODULE AND BUZZER
  • 13. WORKING OF FIRE SECURITY SYSTEM THE LM35 SENSOR MEASURES THE EXTERIOR TEMPERATURE AND SENDS THE DATA TO PIC16F887. THE PIC MICROCONTROLLER KEEPS ON COMPARING THE VALUES OF THE HOME TO ENSURE SAFETY. THE ADC CHANNEL CONVERTS THE ANALOG VALUE TO THE DIGITAL VALUE FOR COMPARISION IN THE MICROCONTROLLER. LM35 CONVERTS THE TEMPERATURE INTO MILLIVOLTS FOR THE PIC MICROCONTROLLER SO THAT IT CAN BE CONVERTED TO ITS ANALOG VALUE.
  • 14. THE OUTPUT IN MILLIVOLT IS GIVEN BY=(TEMP*10)mV IT IS THEN CONVERTED INTO DIGITAL VALUE BY THE FORMULA=(Vin*1023)/5 THE DIGITAL VALUE IS THEN COMPARED TO THE STORED VALUE. IF IT CROSSES THE THRESHOLD VALUE THE COMMAND IS PROVIDED TO THE OUTPUT PORTS.
  • 15. THE BUZZER STARTS TO RING TO ALERT PEOPLE AROUND. THE COMMANDS TO THE GSM MODULE IS SENT THROUGH USART PORT OF PIC16F887 THE GSM MODULE SENDS THE MESSAGE TO THE SAVED MOBILE NUMBER.
  • 16. DOOR SECURITY BUZZER WILL RING SETTING AN ALARM AND GSM MODULE WILL SEND THE MESSAGE TO THE REGISTERED MOBILE NUMBER. PIC16F887 WILL COMPARE THE VALUE OF THE PASSWORD AND IF IT IS ENTERED WRONGLY THEN COMMANDS WILL BE SENT TO THE OUTPUT PORTS. USER WILL HAVE TO ENTER THE PASSWORD THROUGH THE KEYPAD MATRIX
  • 17. DOOR SECURITY SYSTEM • THE KEYPAD MATRIX IS USED TO ENTER THE PASSWORD • THE USER HAS THREE CHANCES TO ENTER THE PASSWORD CORRECTLY. THE KEYPAD MATRIX • THE CONTROLLER WILL COMPARE THE VALUES OF THE PASSWORD ENTERED. • IF PASSWORD MATCHED THE DOOR WILL OPEN, IF THE COMBINATION DOESN’T MATCH FOR THE MORE THAN THREE TIMES THE OUTPUT PORT WILL BE GIVEN COMMANDS. PIC MICROCONTROLLER
  • 18. • IF THE ENTERED PASSWORD IS WRONG THE BUZZER WILL RING. • IT WILL ALERT THE PEOPLE AROUND. BUZZER • THE GSM MODULE WILL RECEIVE THE COMMANDS FROM THE USART PORT. • IT WILL THEN SEND MESSAGE TO THE USER’S NUMBER. GSM MODULE
  • 19. NECCESITY THE REQUIREMENT OF A SECURITY SYSTEM IS PRETTY NECESSARY IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIFE AS CRIME AND ACCIDENTS IS INCREASING DAY BY DAY. WE NEED TO HAVE SECURITY PLUS THE INFORMATION OF SUCH ADVERSE ACCIDENTS MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF AUTHORITIES AND CONCERNED PEOPLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT WILL BE BENEFITING THE PEOPLE IN LONG TERM AS HOUSEHOLD WILL BE MORE SECURE. JUST IMAGINE THE POWER ONE MIGHT FEEL WHEN THEN CAN KEEP A TAB ON THEIR PROPERTY EVEN WHEN THEY WILL BE MILES OR COUNTRIES APART.

APPLICATIONS EVERYWHERE YES THAT’S RIGHT IT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED AT ALL SECTORS FROM COMMERCIAL TO INDUSTRIAL TO HOUSEHOLD SYSTEMS SECURITY IS NEEDED EVERYWHERE, SO PRACTICALLY BUISNESS OVER THESE IDEAS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED AT COMMERCIAL COMPLEXES LIKE MALLS, INDUSTRIAL PLACES AND HOUSEHOLDS. INDUSTRIES CAN PREVENT MILLIONS OF LOSSES, SPECIALLLY THE SMALL SCALE FACTORIES WHICH CAN’T AFFORD HIGH COST SECURITY SYTEM. THE HOUSEHOLDS AS EXPLAINED EARLIER CAN KEEP THEIR HOME SECURE WITH SUCH USE.
  • 21. FUTURE ENHANCEMNET THERE IS HUGE SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENT IN ENHANCEMENT IN THIS PROJECT. A FULLY AUTOMATED HOME SYSTEM CAN BE DEVELOPED SLOWLY AND THOROUGHLY. SENSORS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED TO CHECK WHERE THE ELECTRICITY IS BEING WASTED, AND CONTROL THE WASTAGE. IN SHORT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS CAN BE CONTROLLED BY ELECTRONIC DEVICES. KITCHEN AUTOMATION WHICH IS ON RISE CAN BE INTEGRATED IN ITS FUTURE ENHANCEMENT.
