incidents ,historical background etc . Experiments / Activities /power point presentation .
Checking of previous knowledge—what is the model of earth?
Introduction-------what is the shape of our earth?so what will be the shape of
Globe?
Procedure – how to develop the topic/ lesson ----Students will be told that shape
of the earth is round so shape of the globe is also round
.Teacher will give globe to the students and tell them to identify important
features of globe
.students will be identified,equator,latitude,longitude
Recapitulation—The teacher will recapitulate the topic by using questions like
what is the importance of globe,define latitude and longitude
Evaluation---The students will be evaluated by asking few questions----define
latitude,longitude,grid,and differentiate between latitude and longitude
Reinforcement –The topic will be reinforced by showing globe,latitude,
longitude
Opportunities within and beyond the lesson-
Students learn about the globe,latitudes,longitudes,grid,equator.They also
comes to know about to identify each countries latitudes and longitudes
Relevance to GEMS Core value
World citizenship--Students will come to know about latitude and longitude so
they can find out latitudes and longitudes among our neighbouring countries.
Students’ Work - CW / HW /Display Board / Assessment /Work sheet /Project work
plan for independent practise –on the outline sketch of globe in the text mark
north pole and south pole
Adaptaion for students with learning difficulty—teacher shows latitudes and
longitudes in globe
Extension for gifted students –students can find out any countries latitudes and
longitudes
Possible connection to other subjects—students can know about degrees
