1. Experience is important
Would look twice at grads
from online schools.
Can you really get a PHD from
an online school? Is it valid?
I would hire someone
based on their skills.
It depends on what job they want.
If they want to work for a Google-
type company, then online learning
is appropriate.
You have to live life
before you know
what to do in your job.
Getting a degree from a
brick and mortar college is
preferred when hiring
We can’t get everything
from online media.
I benefit more from learning from a
master jeweler in a one-on-one learn-
ing experience than from watching a
YouTube video on the same subject.

2. I was a little confused about what to ask, so my
subject was a bit confused as well. But as the
interview went on she became more interested in
pursuing the subject that she brought up - about
hiring someone who received an online degree,
rather than a traditional one.

3. How do people get
experience when they take
online learning courses?
Do students get enough
real experience to
transition to the job world?
Do degrees matter
when you are a
creative person?

4. New technology is leading the learning experiences of
today’s college students. Traditional degrees in brick
and mortar colleges might start to become a thing of
the past. Maybe people in other countries don’t have
the same educational opportunities to physically go to
college and need to get their education online instead.
In either situation, how do they get the mentorship
experience that a teacher in the classroom would
give? How do they get experience to get hired?

5. Bill Gates doesn’t have a
college degree, but not every-
one has his passion.
Steve Jobs also didn’t have
a degree.
University of Phoenix offers a
PhD. It is a for-profit school
and now is valid in our main
stream hiring practises.
What about apprenticeships?
How do they fit in with hiring
people in the workforce?
6. a creative, technology-savvy,
collaborative, and inspiring
director who manages a team of
creative people
to be more open-minded to hire
people who don’t follow a
traditional path for getting their
education
there might be creative people
who would be a great asset to the
staff/team, who don’t have a
traditional college degree, and
need to be considered for a job.
