Dear Distinguished Colleague,
The ever-changing rules and regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicaid
and Medicare Services and a shifting economic climate continue to change
the landscape of health care. Hospitals and health systems with Observation
Units face the daunting task of ensuring compliance, efficiency, and quality
improvement. In order to be successful, staff in the Observation Unit must
work together to resonate a lasting positive impression with patients and
administration concerning hospital initiatives and changes to rulings and
regulations.
The 12th Annual Observation Management Summit brings together executives
with varying levels of Observation care utilization discuss ways to utilize
key personnel and resources, addressing managed care requirements, and
exploring strategies to improve patient flow and patient satisfaction.
Join me on April 28th and 29th, as we gather to network and learn strategies
to improve throughput, increase capacity, and decrease length-of-stay while
balancing cost.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
	 Tibian Abramovitz, MD

3:00 pm ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS: Observation Services Models and Challenges
What works in one hospital setting may not in another — or may not be feasible to try all together. During these roundtable discussions, attendees split into
groups to meet their ‘birds of a feather’ peers who share similar experiences, challenges, and opportunities based on the type of organization they represent.
The moderator poses questions and topics of discussion to the room that each group individually discusses to come up with solutions that can be directly
applied in their type of setting.

  • 2. Dear Distinguished Colleague, The ever-changing rules and regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services and a shifting economic climate continue to change the landscape of health care. Hospitals and health systems with Observation Units face the daunting task of ensuring compliance, efficiency, and quality improvement. In order to be successful, staff in the Observation Unit must work together to resonate a lasting positive impression with patients and administration concerning hospital initiatives and changes to rulings and regulations. The 12th Annual Observation Management Summit brings together executives with varying levels of Observation care utilization discuss ways to utilize key personnel and resources, addressing managed care requirements, and exploring strategies to improve patient flow and patient satisfaction. Join me on April 28th and 29th, as we gather to network and learn strategies to improve throughput, increase capacity, and decrease length-of-stay while balancing cost. I look forward to seeing you there.
