I have learned to use a variety of technologies to construct my product. PowerPoint helped present my research and guided my coursework process. Blogger allowed me to upload ideas and helped me understand magazine layout. SlideShare easily uploaded documents to blogger. SurveyMonkey collected audience opinions to inform my magazine. Premier helped create and edit videos for audience research by adding cuts, transitions, and text. YouTube easily uploaded videos to reach a wider audience. Photography equipment like a camera and studio produced relevant images with professional lighting and background. Photoshop edited images for a more professional look. InDesign, which I had not used before, allowed column layouts, feathering, and fonts to construct a realistic magazine.
3. PowerPoint helped me to demonstrate my research and planning in order to
construct my answers. This really helped me in guiding me through the process of my
coursework. As this is something I have used before, I didn’t find it hard to use and I
think it has been a good process of presenting my work in a unique and formal way.
Blogger has helped me upload my ideas, thoughts and
processes and it has helped me understand the layout of my
magazine production. I haven’t used this before but I found it
really easy to lay out my content.
4. SlideShare has helped me to upload my PowerPoints and word documents on to
blogger. I found this as a really easy and quick process to upload my work.
SurveyMonkey has helped me to see what my audience wants
from my magazine and to easily view my results. As it is an
online website, it has helped me to collect my results but also to
give greater access to my audience for their opinions by sharing
my survey on social media.
5. Premier allowed me to form videos to construct my interviews for my
audience research. I learnt how to cut and edit as well as marking in shot
transitions. I also learnt how to insert text on the screen as well to improve
my final product. I didn’t really know how to use this, but this has
developed my experience and made it a lot easier for me to work. It has
allowed me to use a different media form as well to present my work and
findings.
Youtube allowed me to upload videos of the interviews. I liked how the
process was easy to upload and allowed me to reach a wider target audience.
I think that the quality of video as well also offered a better finish to my
videos.
6. For my photography planning, I used both a camera and studio setting in order
to take my photos. Using a highly specialised camera and professional
environment to control the light and placement of people enabled me to
produce relevant images for my magazine. The soft box lighting that I used to
highlight one side of my models face was used to emphasize features and create
effects.
The studio enabled me to use a plain black background as well so that I could
easily blend this in to my black pages of the magazine. I found the equipment
quite easy to use as I have used it before, and I think that the overall setting
allowed me to get the best results out of my photos which emphasize features
and expressions of the model; also the ambience of the scene to translate into
my magazine style.
7. Photoshop enabled me to edit my images in post-production so that I could get the best
look on my images. I increased the contrast, colours, hue’s and another effects to
transform my images – making them seem more professional and effective. I have used
this before and I think it was really good when editing facial features. I used this to
perfect the model and give her a more dramatic look which would link to my magazine
effect.
Indesign was something that I never really used and so when it came to making my magazine
I was intrigued by all the options. I used gradual feathering a lot to make the images and
some parts of the text fade in to the background to make it less harsh, and it also allowed me
to construct columns to follow typical magazine conventions. Using ‘defont’ this allowed me
to incorporate new text styles into my magazine to make it look more realistic and impressive.
I liked being able to use different techniques such as feathering, image placement, text style
and overall page layout in order to make my magazine conventional and real.
