1. [Unit Volleyball (Beginner Class)
Day 3
Objectives: By the end of class all students will be able to:
Perform the basics of passing a volleyball
Be able to execute a simple serve
Be able to execute a spike
Know the motion of how to perform a block
Organize as a team to play a volleyball game
Have a general understanding on the rules of volleyball
Equipment:
Volleyballs (# class dependent)
Safety:
Make sure space is open and free of foreign objects during drills and game
Assessment Suggestions:
Direct observation
Completion of drills
Effort of participation in the game
120 minutes total
2. Minute 0 to 5 Locker room dressing out meet in classroom
Minute: 5 to 15-30 Warm-up activities/ expectations
Zig Zag relay 2 balls
Minute 15-30 to 35-40
Bump to set to spike (pepper)
Blocks, one partner passes the ball little over the other partners head, then the second partner
jumps up to block the ball, then passes in the same manner to their partner
Minute 35 - 40 to 110
Make 4 teams, teams split into 2 groups half are playing volleyball the other half is playing
Hantis, rotating format if not enough tables to fill rest of the class. After so long have them
rotate between games.
Minute 110 to 120
Send students to locker room to prepare for next class
