Questions with
Answers
1. Tell me something about yourself.
Briefly introduce yourself. Make
sure your answer is relevant to the
position
What are your top 2-3
achievements that are relevant
to the job you’re applying for?
What do you love about the job?
Describe
SAMPLE 1: TVL
Good morning Ma’am/Sir. I am
Tristan, a graduating student from
Marigondon Senior High School. I
am applying as a Work
Immersionist or an OJT to your
prestigious company because I just
love the idea of cooking and
preparing delicious dishes.
15
SAMPLE 2: GAS
Good morning Ma’am/Sir. I am
Nathalie, a graduating student from
Marigondon Senior High School. I
am applying as a Work
Immersionist or an OJT to your
prestigious company because I love
the idea of communicating to people
and providing customer service for
them.
16
2. How did you hear about this
position?
If someone inside the company told you
about the position
or recommended that you apply,
definitely make sure to mention that.
Show excitement and curiosity. What
do you love about the job?
Show your interest in the company.
Describe
SAMPLE:
Based on my knowledge, your
company is a good partner and
stakeholder of our school and I
would love to be included in that
beautiful partnership and
represent our school with
commendable work ethics and
quality service.
18
3. What are your biggest strengths?
There are two answers you could go for
here: what your actual strengths are, and
what you think the hiring manager or HR
representative wants to hear.
Pick 1 or 2 skills that would help you really
excel at the job, and 1 or 2 personal (more
or less unrelated) skills.
Describe
SAMPLE:
I am a very hardworking
person and a good team
player. I always make sure
that I finish the given tasks
on time and be able to
produce quality outputs with
less supervision.
20
4. What is your biggest weakness?
The key here is to mention a
weakness that is real but not
something that would get in the way
of you doing your job.
It’s also good practice to mention
how you are working
towards overcoming this
weakness.
Describe
SAMPLE:
To be honest, being shy in public
speaking is my weakness because I am
afraid of committing mistakes. However,
as I grow much older, I have slowly
learned to overcome it by constantly
communicating to others and I believe
that being open to other people at work is
necessary for the company to foster good
communication which will result to
producing quality outputs and services.
22
6. What do you know about this
company?
Do a quick search about the
company.
Think of this as an open-ended
question.
There is no wrong answer here.
Describe
7. Why should we hire you?
Here are 3 general points you can
mention:
1. How you’re super passionate about
working for the company (and why).
2. How your skills fit their requirements.
3. How you’re going to help the
company solve their existing problems.
Improve a metric, setup a process, etc.
Describe
SAMPLE:
Not to brag Sir but you should hire me
because I am a hardworking, trustworthy
and most importantly a well-mannered
person. I strongly believe that if one has
these qualities, it would be easy to
achieve something great and
extraordinary. And if given a chance to
work in your company, I will always strive
to excel and be an asset and a productive
employee.
25
SAMPLE: (with honors)
As a matter of fact Ma’am/Sir,
because of my sense of hard work
and good attendance in school, I am
one of the top ten students in our
class.
26
8. Are you considering other positions fr
in other companies
Express that you are keeping your
options open but that you favor this
job in comparison to the others.
Whatever you do, don’t make it seem
like you’re desperate or that you don’t
have any other options.
Describe
SAMPLE:
Honestly Ma’am/Sir, there are other
options available for me but based on my
research, your company stands out
from the rest as it acknowledges every
employee’s hard work and service. And
I’m so excited to become a part of it and
the company’s success and future
milestones.
28
9. How do you feel about working
weekends or late hours?
In this case, your answer is pretty
straightforward - since you’re
applying for such a job, you probably
don’t have any problems working odd
hours.
Describe
SAMPLE:
Working on a weekend or rendering
overtime is not a problem Ma’am/Sir.
If you love what you do, you will
always be willing to give it time.
30
10. How do you deal with pressure or
stressful situations?
The aim of this question is to see if
you’re the type of person who’d
survive working at the job, or fall
through the cracks when the first
signs of trouble show up.
Say that yes, you do tend to perform
well during stressful situations
Describe
SAMPLE:
I learned to deal with pressure by
practicing good communication to
other people. Whenever I’m not sure
what to do, I always ask those who
knew better so that my work is
polished and free from errors.
32
11. Where do you see yourself in five
years?
Think realistically about what the
next step after this position is, and
whether it is possible to reach it
within the company you are
applying at.
Describe
SAMPLE:
That is an interesting question Sir.
Perhaps, I can see myself being promoted
and be recognized as one of the
outstanding employees in your company.
With my personal strengths such as being
hardworking and possessing good work
ethics, I can assure you that I can be of
good service and be an essential asset to
the company.
