My work placement was at Young Asian Voices, a youth charity in Sunderland for people aged 4-16 that provides activities like football and arts. While there, I helped make a short Christmas film for younger children by writing the script, storyboarding, building the set, filming, recording audio, and editing the final product together. The placement helped me improve my communication, time management, teamwork, and technical editing skills by working on the film project and interacting with people of different ages.

2. Where was your work placement
at?
• My work placement was young Asian voices which
is a youth charity organisation for young people in
Sunderland for people aged 4-16. YAV provides lots
of different fun activities such as football, cricket and
arts.

3. What projects did you do work on
at your work placement?
• While at yav we made a short Christmas film for the younger children. We
created the script of the short film 1st this lead to us then doing the storyboarding.
After the script and story board was complete the set needed to be built. The
short film was a Minecraft short film as we though that would appeal to the target
audience. After the set was built we filmed all of the shots the storyboards really
helped. After the filming was complete we recorded the script and then I edited it
all together.

4. What skills did you learn or
develop
• I got to improve my communication skills as I was talking to a lot of people from
different age ranges. I also worked on my time management skills to ensure that I
was on time each day.
• While we worked on the project I got to work on my team skills this helped me
work better in a group. I also got to work on my technical editing skills as I edited
the full short film
