2. Questions for reflection:
1. What positive behaviorscould you identifyin the way you communicate?: I could
identify that I am respectful person who likes to listen people perceptions and also likes
to be listened. I identify that I have a good relationship with my bosses and directors as
well as I have it with my co-workers so this good manners and my good way to treat
people have let me interact with colleagues that then become in friends for life and
create a good work environment. Also, I could perceive that my empathy has helped me
to scalonate on the company achieving individual goals andmaking the impossible
possible.
2. What behaviorsof yours do you feel need improving? I feel that I need to establish for
my entire teamwork groupalgoals, not only for me but also for all of them, based on
their attitudes and aptitudes, identifying their skills and in which areas anddoing which
activities they feel more comfortable so in that way we can do our best and achieve the
goals all together.
3. How do you think your way of communicating affects people and results? I am
professional in InternationalBusiness andI am directly involved with the operative
processes of the logistics company I work for. If I don't communicate properly with my
teamwork andeven with the rest of the departments of the company, a lot of money
can be lost on the management of the supply chain, andnot only that. If I am not in
constant communication with my colleagues, none of them will know what to do and
the respective process to do a task so that could incurred in a bad customer service,
waste of time and stressful situations that can interrupt the well management of an
import or an export.
4. What factors do you think influence the way you communicate with others? I move
aroundin a very stressful environment, not for my colleagues or my company but due
to logistics are a science that requires to think fast and take good decision in a short
term. That is why I need to be empathetic with others stressful feelings andhow they
express that, I also need to express pretty clear to my colleagues to let them know how
to proceed and controlling my tone of voice, trying to attract a peaceful environment in
which all of them can feel comfortable and confident of their skills and what they are
doing.
5. What conclusions can you make based on these observationsthat will allow you to
improve your communication as a leader, both in the work environment and in your
personal environment? I can conclude that is necessary to avoid the “I” and“YOU”
messages in order to delegate responsibilities unnecessarily andpromoting a
confidence environment for those who I want to communicate my ideas, thoughtsand
feelings. Also, I can conclude that a good leader is recognized for being fair andhe or
3. her listens first to the people involved in a situation before blame with no justification
alwayspreserving an open communication where respect andclear ideas are the pillars
to solve situations and interchange possible solutions.
After that analysis, choose at least one behavior that you think you can improve I have
realized that I want to get more involved with my teamworkgoals and desires, listening to them
trying to find points in common in order to establish organizationalaims, but also in order to help
them to scalonate inside the company andhelping them to improve their skills and feeling more
comfortable with their job. I want to know what they expect for me and also let them know what I
expect from them. I also want to apply this new “rule” for my personal life, listening the
expectations anddreams that my family, friends and boyfriend would like to achieve but also
providing me peaceful spaces where I can listen to me in a personal way trying to identify my
daily aims, what I expect from me and setting goals in order to be a better person every day and
at every moment.
Actions to improve the chosen behavior Please find on below the specific actions to improve
the chosen behavior
1. Establish mensual meetings with my teamworkin order to evaluate our behavior inside
the company and if we are getting the results we expected to get. Also, this mensual
meetings will allow to all the teamwork to achieve new goals accordingly to the results
obtained on the evaluation and this will improve both our individual andgroup
performance.
2. Create a “Dreams tree” with my family andboyfriend. This is to express our feelings and
emotions in a written creative way that reminds us what our dreams are made of and
how our daily actions bring us closer to our goals. The “Dream tree” will be evaluated
every six months.
3. Every four weekends I will go to a mountain to make a feedback of what I am doing good
and wrong. The specific walk to a mountain is because I feel the need to be away from all
the noise of the daily life and provide a peaceful moment for me in which I can be
completely honest to myself at the time I analyzemy actions.
