2. What is a story board?
A story board is a type of illustration which organises the shot types and actions
in each film shot. It displays images to help visualise the film, animation or
graphic in a media area. It also helps to show a rough estimate of how many
shots you need to use whilst shooting or designing something.
4. Why do you need a story board?
A story board helps immensely throughout the process of making a type of video
or film. It is one of the best ways to show and share the vision you have for your
film. Story boards can help you map out the areas and a shot types you would
like to use and explain to others how you visualise the idea you have created and
make them understand your idea.
Similarly, a story board makes the production a lot of easier as you can sketch out
the frame shots by hand or create them on the computer. Beneath the story
board shots you would write lines and notes to show what shot types to make it
easier when shooting.
