Institutional Review
URSSC makes a recommendation to the RERC. The RERC
considers the recommendation and determines if the
proposal should be exempted from review, or whether an
expedited review or full review is needed.
A duly accomplished application for ethics review together
with complete research proposal, duly accomplished
checklist/s, informed/parental consent, and other
documents are submitted by the research proponent/s to
the URSSC. URSSC conducts the initial review.
A member of the RERC, designated by the RERC
Chair, undertakes an expected review for researches
that pose minimal risk.
The RERC Chair calls for a full board review for
researches presenting more than minimal risk to
individuals, environment and/or communities.
