2. Movement
 Movement takes place in joints.

3. Terms of Movement
Flexion Extension
•Bending of joints
•Decrease the angle between body parts
•In most cases flexion is the anterior
movement, but in the knee joint
flexion is posterior.
•Straightening of the joint.
•Increase the angle between body parts.

4. Terms of Movement
Abduction Adduction
• Movement away from the median
plane of the body
•Movement towards the median plane
of the body
These takes place in coronal plane.

5. Terms of Movement
Medial Rotation Lateral Rotation
•Turns the anterior surface medially or
inwards.
•Turns the anterior surface laterally or
outwards.

6. Terms of Movement
Pronation Supination
•Medial rotation of the forearm •Lateral rotation of the forearm
•Palm is turned backwards •Palm is turned forward

7. Terms of Movement
Dorsiflexion Plantar flexion
Flexion of the foot at the ankle Extension of the foot at the ankle

Eversion Inversion
Movement of the sole of the foot
laterally
Movement of the sole of the foot
medially
