Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in a career opportunity
with Schonfeld! We are extremely excited that you
have progressed to the virtual interview phase of
your journey with us and are very much looking
forward to getting to know you better.
We understand a lot of anxiety comes with
interviewing and exploring a new opportunity. This
guide was created to help you prepare, give some
insight as to what you should expect and answer
questions you may have. We want you to feel
completely comfortable while interviewing so you
can perform at your best!

Who We Are
Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is a multi-manager platform
that invests its capital with Internal and Partner portfolio
managers, primarily on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis,
across quantitative, fundamental equity and tactical trading
strategies. We have created a unique structure to provide
global portfolio managers with autonomy, flexibility and
support to best enable them to maximize the value of their
businesses.
Over the last 30 years, Schonfeld has successfully capitalized
on inefficiencies and opportunities within the equity
markets. We have developed and invested heavily in
proprietary technology, infrastructure and risk analytics. Our
portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas,
Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and
products. We look for ways to align the interests of
investors, investment professionals and the firm, highlighted
by the opportunity for investment professionals to co-invest
in our funds and their individual strategies.
Quantitative Strategies
Schonfeld manages an industry leading systematic trading platform. We focus on building long term
partnerships with extraordinarily talented individuals to promote rigorous and innovative quantitative
research. Schonfeld provides our trading teams with cutting edge technology, market & alternative market
data and the operational support required to construct sustainable investment strategies. In addition, the
investment teams generally have the ability to own and retain their track records and the intellectual
property they develop. Our teams concentrate primarily on short to intermediate-term and automated global
trading strategies. We continue to hire investment teams to drive Schonfeld's international growth and
investment strategy diversity within our statistical and index arbitrage portfolios. Our strategies span multiple
asset classes, including Equities, FX and Futures.
Investment Strategies

Fundamental Equity
As a complement to our quantitative strategies, Schonfeld continues to make significant investments in the
fundamental equity business. Our platform offers opportunities both externally, within the Partner fund
structure, and on the Internal platform. The Partner fund structure allows portfolio managers to run their
independent investment advisors, anywhere in the world, with the support of Schonfeld's expertise across
risk, compliance, business development, trading, operations and advisory services. The Internal platform
affords portfolio managers and analysts the ability to sit within a collaborative environment and focus
exclusively on the investment process. Schonfeld's aim is to preserve autonomy and flexibility across both
structures while offering comprehensive support to fundamental portfolio managers.
Tactical Trading
Schonfeld employs a diverse set of long volatility investment models designed to broaden the portfolio and
enhance returns. Models include equity capital markets, event driven, index rebalancing and short-term
trading. We equip our teams with sophisticated technology, including order entry platforms, trading tools and
trading strategies and techniques to meet the unique needs of their active trading styles. Tactical trading has
become a core part of our ability to create orthogonal and uncorrelated returns.

Camera angle & zoom: Position
your camera so the view is from your
upper arms up-not zoomed in on your
face.

During your interview
Our dress code is business casual. Wear
what you feel is appropriate and comfortable.
You should expect to interview with 2 – 5
people for 45 – 60 minutes each. Each
interviewer will have a different focus area so
we get a holistic view of you.
If interviewing for an engineering
position, you likely will be tested on coding and
problem solving. This can consist of virtual
whiteboarding and/or a live codepair session.
*Our internal teams develop in Java, C++ and Python,
but we are open to OO languages.
Even though you’re at home, should you
need to use the restroom, ask at any time.
Some Helpful Tips
Secrets to Success

Be thoughtful. Think about your response and ask clarifying questions, if
needed.
Answer each question with the best example possible. Avoid going off on
unrelated tangents.
Explain your thought process, think of alternative solutions and be receptive
to feedback. We may throw a wrench in the question to see how you adapt.
Prepare. Know your story, your impact, lessons you’ve learned, your
successes and failures.
Come with questions. We want you leaving knowing as much about us as we
hope to learn about you.

Talent Acquisition Team
Matt Gombos
Head of Recruitment Strategy
Matt joined Schonfeld in January 2020 to lead the talent
acquisition team. In this role, he is responsible for
developing & implementing a holistic strategy around lateral
& campus recruiting, talent brand management, the
evaluation process and recruiting produced data. Prior to
Schonfeld, Matt held leadership roles in HR & TA at
WorldQuant and AQR. Outside the office, Matt enjoys
spending time with his family, traveling and any activity you
can play outdoors.
Talent Acquisition Team
Radhika Arora
Director of Technology Recruiting
Radhika joined Schonfeld in February 2019 and
leads all recruiting-related activities for the
firm’s technology department. Radhika brings a
10-year track record of success in the recruiting
industry along with a passion for marketing,
branding, and recruiting operations. Prior to
Schonfeld, Radhika was a Director at a leading
financial technology recruiting agency where
she worked closely with multiple buy-side
clients. When not at work, Radhika enjoys
traveling, hiking and playing with her adorable
silky terrier, Atlas.
Jen Kuehn
Senior Recruiting Coordinator
Jen joined Schonfeld in January 2019 and
has worked in the recruiting industry since
2014. Jen is responsible for coordinating
the recruiting process and to ensure an
excellent experience throughout. She feels
very fortunate to work for such a well-
established and culture-driven
organization. Prior to 2014, Jen was a
musical theatre performer! In her free
time, she teaches fitness classes and
enjoys playing indoor and outdoor
volleyball.

Dylan Katz
Recruiting Coordinator
Dylan joined Schonfeld in August 2019
and is responsible for coordinating the
recruiting process and to ensure an
excellent experience throughout. Prior
to Schonfeld, Dylan was a staff member
at Fordham University. He is passionate
about relationship building and
personal development. Outside of
work, he can be found exploring New
York City’s parks and gardens and one
day hopes to be involved with the
creation of a rooftop farm in the city.
Renee Kenas
Director of Infrastructure Recruiting
Renee joined Schonfeld in July 2018 and has
worked in financial services for over 16 years.
Renee is responsible for all recruiting-related
activities for our infrastructure teams as well
as the firm’s campus recruiting & internship
program. She feels privileged to work at an
organization like Schonfeld that views talent
at the center of everything it does. While
many firms can speak to a strong culture,
Schonfeld lives it day in and day out. Outside
the office, Renee enjoys spending time with
family and friends, traveling, and being
outdoors.

We have created a unique structure to provide global portfolio managers with autonomy, flexibility and support to best enable them to maximize the value of their businesses. Over the last 30 years, Schonfeld has successfully capitalized on inefficiencies and opportunities within the equity markets. We have developed and invested heavily in proprietary technology, infrastructure and risk analytics. Our portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas, Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and products.   • 4. Quantitative Strategies Schonfeld manages an industry leading systematic trading platform. We focus on building long term partnerships with extraordinarily talented individuals to promote rigorous and innovative quantitative research. Schonfeld provides our trading teams with cutting edge technology, market & alternative market data and the operational support required to construct sustainable investment strategies. In addition, the investment teams generally have the ability to own and retain their track records and the intellectual property they develop. Our teams concentrate primarily on short to intermediate-term and automated global trading strategies. We continue to hire investment teams to drive Schonfeld's international growth and investment strategy diversity within our statistical and index arbitrage portfolios. Our strategies span multiple asset classes, including Equities, FX and Futures. Investment Strategies 4 Fundamental Equity As a complement to our quantitative strategies, Schonfeld continues to make significant investments in the fundamental equity business. Our platform offers opportunities both externally, within the Partner fund structure, and on the Internal platform. The Partner fund structure allows portfolio managers to run their independent investment advisors, anywhere in the world, with the support of Schonfeld's expertise across risk, compliance, business development, trading, operations and advisory services. The Internal platform affords portfolio managers and analysts the ability to sit within a collaborative environment and focus exclusively on the investment process. Schonfeld's aim is to preserve autonomy and flexibility across both structures while offering comprehensive support to fundamental portfolio managers. Tactical Trading Schonfeld employs a diverse set of long volatility investment models designed to broaden the portfolio and enhance returns. Models include equity capital markets, event driven, index rebalancing and short-term trading. We equip our teams with sophisticated technology, including order entry platforms, trading tools and trading strategies and techniques to meet the unique needs of their active trading styles. Tactical trading has become a core part of our ability to create orthogonal and uncorrelated returns.
  • 5. Some Helpful Tips Setting the scene Refer to your email confirmation for date, start time, and any video conferencing log in information that has been sent to you. Frame your background: See what’s behind you – no inappropriate pictures, washrooms, dressing rooms, etc. Keep distractions (pets, kids etc.) at bay. Camera angle & zoom: Position your camera so the view is from your upper arms up-not zoomed in on your face. 5 During your interview Our dress code is business casual. Wear what you feel is appropriate and comfortable. You should expect to interview with 2 – 5 people for 45 – 60 minutes each. Each interviewer will have a different focus area so we get a holistic view of you. If interviewing for an engineering position, you likely will be tested on coding and problem solving. This can consist of virtual whiteboarding and/or a live codepair session. *Our internal teams develop in Java, C++ and Python, but we are open to OO languages. Even though you’re at home, should you need to use the restroom, ask at any time.
  • 6. Some Helpful Tips Secrets to Success 6 Be thoughtful. Think about your response and ask clarifying questions, if needed. Answer each question with the best example possible. Avoid going off on unrelated tangents. Explain your thought process, think of alternative solutions and be receptive to feedback. We may throw a wrench in the question to see how you adapt. Prepare. Know your story, your impact, lessons you’ve learned, your successes and failures. Come with questions. We want you leaving knowing as much about us as we hope to learn about you.
  • 8. Talent Acquisition Team Matt Gombos Head of Recruitment Strategy Matt joined Schonfeld in January 2020 to lead the talent acquisition team. In this role, he is responsible for developing & implementing a holistic strategy around lateral & campus recruiting, talent brand management, the evaluation process and recruiting produced data. Prior to Schonfeld, Matt held leadership roles in HR & TA at WorldQuant and AQR. Outside the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and any activity you can play outdoors.

Talent Acquisition Team Radhika Arora Director of Technology Recruiting Radhika joined Schonfeld in February 2019 and leads all recruiting-related activities for the firm’s technology department. Radhika brings a 10-year track record of success in the recruiting industry along with a passion for marketing, branding, and recruiting operations. Prior to Schonfeld, Radhika was a Director at a leading financial technology recruiting agency where she worked closely with multiple buy-side clients. When not at work, Radhika enjoys traveling, hiking and playing with her adorable silky terrier, Atlas. Jen Kuehn Senior Recruiting Coordinator Jen joined Schonfeld in January 2019 and has worked in the recruiting industry since 2014. Jen is responsible for coordinating the recruiting process and to ensure an excellent experience throughout. She feels very fortunate to work for such a well- established and culture-driven organization. Prior to 2014, Jen was a musical theatre performer! In her free time, she teaches fitness classes and enjoys playing indoor and outdoor volleyball.

Talent Acquisition Team Dylan Katz Recruiting Coordinator Dylan joined Schonfeld in August 2019 and is responsible for coordinating the recruiting process and to ensure an excellent experience throughout. Prior to Schonfeld, Dylan was a staff member at Fordham University. He is passionate about relationship building and personal development. Outside of work, he can be found exploring New York City’s parks and gardens and one day hopes to be involved with the creation of a rooftop farm in the city. Renee Kenas Director of Infrastructure Recruiting Renee joined Schonfeld in July 2018 and has worked in financial services for over 16 years. Renee is responsible for all recruiting-related activities for our infrastructure teams as well as the firm’s campus recruiting & internship program. She feels privileged to work at an organization like Schonfeld that views talent at the center of everything it does.
