Sample presentation for library
1. Powerpoint Presentation
In which I attempt to use all the
various pages, transitions and other
PPT geegaws
2. This is just text
• It defaults to a basic bullet style
• But you can change bullets by
Clicking the down arrow by bullets on toolbar.
Indenting is done by:
Hitting tab, or
Indent in the toolbar.
You can outdent by hitting Shift-Tab as
necessary to get to correct level.
Or by using the Outdent in the Toolbar.
3. Let’s add some media
This is a picture of a library from Clipart.
4. About Vacations
You can drive to a vacation spot.
You have to pack your bags.
You can take a day or a week off.
Or MORE!
You can take pictures with your
camera.
I just inserted a clip art picture of a
camera.
It “landed” in the picture to the
right and I dragged it to this
bullet list.
5. Powis Castle, Weshpool, Wales
I chose the Slide Style with Picture+Caption+Text. (Photo is my personal photo
located at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/zenm/7637939466/in/set-
72157630730345784.)
6. This is a text box. Use Insert-
Text Box. The box will open
as you type. You can grab the
Top boxes to change the default
width or length. I grabbed
the green “handle” to make
the Word Art slanted. (There
is a green “handle” on all
Middle PowerPoint objects.)

7. Now let’s add some embedded video. I will use
video available on the web. To get freely available
video, I picked a video from my publicly available
Flickr videos. Because it requires attribution, I’ve
added a notation to the video to that effect.
I got started by selecting the slide type that allows
me to insert video.
These are both text boxes. (Insert-Text Box)
9. Adding Charts
• Create an Excel spreadsheet
• Then create a slide and insert the chart.
– Either Insert – Chart, or
– Create the slide that has the graphic in the middle.
• For the next chart, I’ve created a simple
spreadsheet and showed 2 ways to view it in
chart form.
– Note: Data entry appears beside the chart.
