 After watching this clip, before viewing the whole film we will do an activity.
1. Get together as a group and discuss.
2. Assessment: I will informally observe what the students already know about global warming as
a pre-assessment during the discussion.
3. Key Questions: What does this video show about global warming?
4. Follow Up Questions:
-Where did the ice that the polar bears live on go?
-Is it nature for the polar bears to struggle, or is something wrong?
-If the polar bears are struggling, how are other animals being affected?
Lessons to learn from the
film
 The climate and interaction of animals in the polar
arctic.
 The way that Polar bears and Walruses work
together to survive a harsh climate.
 The effects of global warming on the earth.
 What can we do as humans?
Watch the full film through two class periods
After the film
Activity and Assessment
Students will discuss in small groups their thoughts on
global warming, and how they as kids can or cannot
make a difference. Each student will come up with
one study that they think scientists should perform to
help solve or learn more about global warming.
Assessment: Students will share their chosen study
with the class.
