2. The City of Tomorrow
Have any of you ever thought were the upcoming generations will be leaving
in the next century ?
Have you ever imagined how the cities will look in 2100 ?
Did you ever envy your grandchildren and great grandchildren for the
technologies and architecture of the cities they will be leaving in ?
3. The City of Tomorrow: Smart.
The cities of tomorrow will exhibit vast amount of technology
such as:
1. E-government: You can finish all the required documents
online from home or work or even from booths spread through
out the city instead of long queues and red tape employees.
2. Smart payments: In the city of tomorrow, you are early
notified with your due payments. You can also get done with
your payments in no time whether you’re at home, at work,
at the mall or even at the beach.
3. No electricity plugs: If you want to charge your cell phone or
your tablet, just take off your ears or hands and place it
beside you or in your bag. Radio waves from buildings and
public transportation vehicles will do the rest.
4. Intelligent roads: There’ll be no toll stations. Instead sensors
embedded in the roads that will charge you automatically
once pass by them. Also cars will slow down automatically
once it approaches speed warning signs.
4. The City of Tomorrow: Green.
The cities of tomorrow are designed to be environment
friendly:
1. Vast areas covered with green. The green areas are going to
be double the inhabited areas to ensure continuous supply of
fresh air to the population.
2. Cities of tomorrow will dump nuclear plants and ordinary
electricity plants operating by coal or natural gas in favor
renewable energy such as solar energy or windmills. The use
of air conditioners and/or heaters will be minimized and
instead buildings will be design to be self ventilated.
3. Organic fuel will be replaced by electricity. Cars will no longer
require petrol or diesel to run. They’ll be using electric
energy or hydrogen fuel to operate.
4. Recycling will be the core industry in the cities of the future.
Given that Earth’s natural resources are going to decrease
gradually, recycling will be mandated to avoid the over
consumption of Earth’s precious metals.
5. The City of Tomorrow: Safe.
The cities of tomorrow are designed to be also human
friendly:
1. Cities of tomorrow will be equipped with surveillance systems
that operate 24/7 to provide maximum security to the
inhabitants.
2. Dangerous jobs such as building by skyscrapers will be carried
out by robots or drones that are controlled by man.
3. Cities of tomorrow will have smart buildings that are directly
connected to the nearest police station.
6. The City of Tomorrow: Not overpopulated.
The cities of tomorrow aren’t going to be overpopulated:
1. The buildings are expected to reach more than 1000 stories
high. They’ll be called “City Buildings” which means that each
building can accommodate large number of individuals making
in turn as a city on its own.
2. People won’t be living on land only. They’ll be living as well
under water. There will be as under water hotels and
attractions.
