  3. Introduction to referral awards Referral awards are quite simply, ways that companies and businesses use to say thank you to clients for getting them new leads and generating business. These awards can be as little, or as informal as sending a letter saying thanks, to something more formal as cash giveaways, discounts on future purchases, or free merchandise.
  4. Cost and timeframe Typically, the only real cost is what is given away. But if you choose to outsource a professional company to manage the accounts, these costs have to be factored in as well. You should give some time for the word of mouth aspect of the campaign to take over, and for the effects to be really felt.
  5. Action plan The key to any good marketing campaign is to have a great plan in place before starting. since this is a program based on customers and clients helping you out and then you rewarding them for it, you must be sure that all the terms and conditions are laid out in detail and as clearly as possible before starting.
  6. Tips and tactics You must encourage customers and clients to submitting their experiences and thoughts for publication on your website or in a newsletter. Recruit a few motivated and excited team members who would continually speak good things about your company, whether in the real world, on internet message boards, or anywhere else.
  7. Alternatives to consider Something similar to referral programs is product seeding, so that it can be seen by important or influential people. You can also engage in product seeding in smaller ways, by getting someone who has a good reputation on online forums to advocate your product.
