What is Hulu?

Hulu Company Introduction
● Hulu is a web based streaming service, much like netﬂix, that features a wide array of shows and movies for
entertainment.
● It also works as a platform for other entertainment services to place their content, for example, Stars, Cinemax,
Showtime, Disney+, and ESPN.
● There is a base version of Hulu for $7 a month that allows access to Hulu content with ads and nothing extra. There are
more expensive bundles that take away ads, give live TV, and give access to premium movies or shows.
● The issue is that these bundles can be tedious to pick through and hard to parse what exactly you’re getting and for
what value.
● This is the problem we aim to solve in this presentation.

How we can solve the problem.

Right now, Hulu offers the ability to choose a base
package, while giving subscribers the opportunity to
add on any additional channels for an added cost.
We recommend that Hulu utilizes a survey to
understand their individual consumer, and offer a
personalized package, based on their interests.
This survey would ask consumers various questions he
understand their watching habits, and at the end, it
would present them with a bundle that was built for
them specifically. They could then offer an exclusive
price for using the bundle Hulu created for them.

Low Effort Decision Making: Heuristics
Our recommendation utilizes factors of Low-Effort
Decision making and Heuristics. Efforts are reduced
through heuristics by giving consumers the ease of
examining fewer attributes and alternatives. This strategy
allows Hulu to do the examination for their consumers,
and creating bundles for them.
Consumers will then use peripheral processing through
their heuristics to help them determine a decision. The
consumers that utilize the custom bundling through Hulu
option are more passive in their decision making process,
and will use these outside cues to lead to their decision.
