selected) from a longer text.Reading
selection can be influenced by
culture,history,environment and other
factors.
3. Culture
Is the characteristic features of everyday
existance (such as diversions or a way of life)
shared by people in a place or time.
Culture influences a selection through
religious ideas, moral values and gender
norms, just to name a few potential
variables.
4. History
Plays a fundamental role in shaping
literature:every novel, play or poem ones
reads is influenced by the political context in
which it is written , the people that the
author knows and the wider society that
frames the entire work.
6. Heritage
Is a legacy from the ancestors which does not only
affect the present but is also a big impact to the
future.Natural heritage refers to the diverse
deological stuctures and formations, heritage is that
which is inherited from the past
generations,maintained in the present and bestowed
to the future generations.The term “natural heritage”
is derived from “natural inheritance”.
7. A reading selection can be influenced by the
culture, history and environment of the author.The
author employs different strategies for the
readers to grasp the message of the selection.He
may utilized local and familiar culture and
setting,local history,environment and even his
own experiences for the readers to “get involved”
with the selection and easily understand the text.
