okay in the sense that she always ate green leafy vegetables and take vitamins
which is good for pregnant women.

Ofcourse, I and my husband take good care of him since he was at
stage of infancy until this present that he is already at the stage of puberty.
4. Learner’s Social Aspect:
Describe your child’s Sociability (friendly, outgoing or shy, loner)
He is very friendly. I don’t have any problems the way he socialize
with others. I am very thankful for the reason that I have a child like him
who does not involve himself in any kind of trouble and mess.
Who were the learner’s playmates?
He is fond of playing with our neighbor who has the same age with
him and that served already as his playmates when he came from school.
As a children then was he/she allowed to play outside?
Yes, he is allowed to play outside the house as long as he is only at

avoid him to play.
Is he/she allowed to go out with friends?
Do you have rules for him/her to allow regarding going out?
What are these rules?
Speaking about that, I have a big NO, why? Because, we as his
parents are afraid that he might engage and learn to drink liquor, smoking
and we don’t want that his friends itself are the reason why he knew such
things. In other words, we are scared of the bad influence of his friends
eventhough some of his peer are good but we are just protecting him
ahead before that time comes.
Emotional – Moral
What are your expectations of your child?
We are expecting that he can set his own goals in life, that he
could finish his studies and overcome the temptations that surround him
as he continue his expedition in this life.
How do you provide a nurturing environment of your child?
Since he is the eldest, we are generous according to his needs. We
provided him something and so that he could feel the unconditional love,
care and such that he may be able to realize how precious is he in our sight
Does your child go to you when she/he feels down or has a problem?
What do you do to meet his/her emotional needs?
He is shy to tell his problems to me but he seek his fathers
attention and help when he is afraid of something. What we are doing to
meet his emotional needs is that we advice him something which could
uplift his hurtful emotion.
What do you do when he/she is not successful in something?
When he attempt to do something and he got failed, we are telling
him not to mind that opportunity he missed because there are many
chances to have it again and we are advising him not to surrender. As what
other says, life is touch and go” we are often inculcating it in his mind to
remind not to cloud his eyes with tears but to be strong enough.
5. How do you discipline your children?
When it comes to discipline alone, well, I am very strict. I am
implementing rules at home. I try to impose discipline to them in proper
places and with proper reasons.
Do your have rules in the house? What are they?
Yes, I have plenty of rules in the house. First, they are not allowed
to watch the television unless and until they are through with their
household chores.
How do you impose the rules?
I impose the rules by simply saying and telling it to them.
What are the consequences of breaking the rules?
Actually, there are no consequences in breaking the rules
because as what I have observed, my children are obedient in the rules
here at home.

8. Your Analysis
Your findings and recommendations in the Learner Development Profile will help you answer the
questions here.
1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of
parenting experienced by the learner?
When I conducted an interview to the parents of the learner, I was able
to know that the style of parenting they have on their child is authoritative type
in which this type of parenting the learner is self-governing but there are still
rules present that limit him in his play, actions, and joining with friends.
2. Relating your data with what you learned from child and adolescent, what
family factors do you contribute to the development and over-all adjustment
of the learner in school?
As what I have learned in Child and Adolescent Development the factors
that I am going to contribute to the development and over – all adjustment of
the learner in school are: first, it contribute how the learners are nurtured by his
parents, their financial setting, and cultural background of the family unit.
3. Does the communication between the home-school have an affect on the
learner? If yes, what are these effects?
“Education begins at home” This quote helped me in finding and
understanding the behavior of the learner. What he did in school reflects how he
is nurtured and reared by his parents at home. One of these effects for instance,
if the learner act and possessed misconduct in the classroom, then what he did
especially when it is a serious type then surely his parents are expected to visit
the school and consult for the performance of his child to his adviser or teacher.
Your Analysis
1. Reflect on your own observation as a child. What type of parenting did you
experience? How did it affect you?
When I was still a small boy until this present, I observed that the style of
parenting I have is authoritarian type of parenting. Wherein my parents are
always in authority and rules are given. But even if these type of parenting is not
available I could still manage my time because I inherit the attitude of my mother
which makes them happy that at this age of mine, I do not even engage myself in
going out with my peers in the sense that I am afraid of the bad influence that
might bring me to descend and as what my parent says, “temptations are always
there surrounds you so be careful in doing something.” Her lines blessed me,
anyway this affect me on my studies in the sense that, instead of spending my
time with other, I rather choose to stay and help my parents at home.
2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home – school
collaboration? How can you speak well with the parents? How can you help
them? How can they help you?
As teacher to be, I could establish good home – school collaboration by
observing the behavior of the learner in my class. I would be responsible enough
on their attitude for instance, if ever there is a trouble behind that create a
conflict, problems in my students subsequently I will call the parents of that
learner such that even they will be able to know how their child performed in my
class. Wherein through this, we can say that there is relationship between home
– school link. NJP
