2. Community Forest
• "Community Forest" means a National Forest handed over to an users'
group pursuant to Section 25 for its development, conservation and
utilization for the collective interest
• The District Forest Officer may handover any part of a National Forest to a
Users' Group in the form of a Community Forest As Prescribed entitling to
develop, conserve, use and manage the Forest and, sell and distribute the
Forest Products independently by fixing their prices according to Work Plan
• The Users' Group to be a Corporate Body: (1) The Users' Group constituted
pursuant to Section 42 shall be an autonomous and corporate body having
perpetual secession. (2) The Users' Group shall have a separate seal of its
own. (3) The Users' Group as a person may acquire, possess or transfer or
otherwise manage movable and immovable property.
